Interested in 530HCx but I need to know what is in the box. In other words, with what does a new unit ship? Also, I have Etopo maps for Canada on CD. Can these be downloaded to a blank SD card and used in this unit?

Hello alan,

You will not be able to load E-topo onto the Garmin GPS. That is alright because Garmin offers better maps for the unit. Topo Canada V4. What is in the box is on the overview page.

Thanks for the reply. A few more questions if I may.
1. Is the mapsource and waypoint software Mac compatible?
2. When was the Garmin Topo Canada V4 released?
3. Any idea where I can find a carrying pouch for the unit that allows me to connect it to my backpack for easy access?

Hello Alan,

1. No, but you can download Basecamp for free from Garmin.com t do the same if not more.
2. The last version of Topo Canada was released about two years ago. Keep in mind backcountry data does not change often enough to justify frequent map updates.
