Hello Barry,

The Montana 650 should be a good unit for use in the vehicle and on the trail. Which 550 do you have? The oregon 550, nuvi 550 or zumo 550? And I assume you are talking about the zumo 660? (you mentioned 650)

I still recommend the zumo series for the bike but the Montana is perfect for people who need something off the bike also. Keep in mind all accessories including mounts and maps will be purchased separately. Once we get more time to play with the Montana we may find that it is more suitable for the bike than we originally thought. Please feel free to check back with us again when the Montana is released

Cheers
Jordan
