I hate to ask this question... but is there any setting I can select so I am not driving off the map as I travel? Is there a different mode to select?

Hello John,

I may not understand your question. What do you mean by driving off the map. Are you missing coverage? Do you need to purchase mapping? Are you looking for a unit for driving on road? Do you not see the maps in the unit for your area. Talk to you soon

Cheers

Hi,,what I meant was that the map was static and as I travelled across the water my icon moved off the edge of the map unless I zoomed out. It's working fine now,,the map moves with the icon of the boat in the center of the screen.
Incidentally,,the free maps seem to include very good coverage of the lakes mear me (Buckhorn, Chemong, Pigeon).

I have the same issue, the screen does not seem to track the icon, it goes off screen, I have to move the cursor, or zoom out to "catch up" to the icon. My other issue is when I power up in a new location, I need to select return to vessel, or the screen remains at my last location,annoying...

You need to stop Panning for the unit to keep you in the Center of the screen. Hit "Menu" Then select return to vessel to stop panning. The second problem you should pass onto Lowrance for they can fix the way it acts when you turn it on in a new location.

Cheers
Jordan
