I've owned a Gilsson for 1-1/2 yrs on a Nuvi 255W and it has worked perfectly (I read about it not working with my unit but I've had no problems - until now). Now it works intermittently (it doesn't go into USB mode but goes between GPS battery to bike battery) The green light on the egg stays on as it goes between the two batteries so I assume the problem is when it leaves the egg or when it enters the Nuvi - but I know nothing about electrical stuff so that is just an assumption. Is there a way to clean it or tighten the cable connection? If I need a new one, is there a heftier unit that would work with my Nuvi? I ride bumpy dirt roads as often as possible. Thank you.

You may need a new one. Garmin now offers their own hardwire cable.
