The RAM-A-336 has a FEMALE thread equivalent to that found on the underside of most standard cameras or camcorders.
This RAM Mount Part has a 9/16'' diameter rubber ball, known as an A size, with a FEMALE 1/4''-20 Female Thread. The thread and short 1/4'' long neck on this part is made of Stainless Steel.

The A size ball and socket system is designed for VERY LIGHT applications. The mounting devices will only hold up to approximately 1lbs in a low vibration environment. For a more sturdy mounting solution we recommend the RAM Mount B Size Ball Parts with the 1'' diameter Rubber Ball.
