USE DROID RAZR CAR DOCK WITH RAM SUCTION CUP
Pros: strong and let's me use ram mount
Cons: too expensive!
Used this ball along with RAM Mount Aluminum 0.25-20 Female Thread on 0.56 inch Ball, just screwed together, and I was able to use my RAM suction cup windshield mount that uses the 1 inch ball. I did have to put some shim material in the Car Dock socket because this ball is slightly smaller than the one for the dock, but thats all and it works great. The stock Motorola windshield has very little adjustment and is pretty flimsy.

BALL MOUNT FOR GOPRO
Pros: hard to remember what ball size i had)
Cons: may loosen.
I bought this to attach my GoPro Tripod adapter to it, did a four hour atv ride over rough terrain sometimes at high speed. Managed to capture a Moose photo. Did not loosen.

THREAD BALL CAMERA MOUNT
Pros: fits ok
Cons: may damage plastic thread in camera
Useful if you need it. Firm hold but twist and will damage plastic thread in camera if too tight or by vibration

THREAD LENGTH
Pros: strong/well made
Cons: too short of thread length
As advertised but the thread length is very short. If only 3/16" longer would help in the mounting onto metal plates as well as adding a washer/lock washer.

This is a ram accessory that allows you to mount a digital camera on your ram mounting system. In my case I have a Ram transponder mount on the handlebar of my motorcycle which I can now take off and mount my action camera. It works as designed and fits in well with the plethora of excellent Ram gadgetry. My only problem is that the Midland action camera that I have has a loose female connector and allows the camera to vibrate at certain RPM's.

GREAT UNIVERSAL MOUNT OPTION
Pros: well built and well finished.
RAM is simply the best way to mount gadgets on almost anything.
I bought two of these One for a camera, and one to make a permanent mount on my motorcycle. The 1/4-20 thread matches normal camera tripod mounts, so its a cinch to connect. For the bike, I drilled and tapped a hole and screwed it in using loc-tite.

SIMPLE AND DOES THE JOB
Got this to use on my motorcycle handlebar ram mount. I use a small hd camcorder and it works flawlessly. Very secure and quickly dismounts. I also like that while it is secure, you can lighten the tension enough to be able to swivel the camera to get a shot to the side.

GOOD
Works great for a Canon Powershot digital camera. As stated by others, the thread depth may be too much. I superglued a washer onto it to prevent screwing it in too deep. Problem solved. Be careful not to over tighten and strip the plastic threads out of your camera.

HANDY CAMERA MOUNT
Pros: simple, small, inexpensive
I use this mount with my Nikon L6, L20 and D40 on my motorcycle. Works great as a tripod substitute and stores nicely in the tank bag.

Wow, is there anything RAM mounts hadn't thought of? This is what i needed for a quick change from gps to camera. I use it when we take group shots instead of a tripod.

This is the very best way to mount a camera on your motorcycle. I can use a long arm to reach from the bars to see above the Speedometer an still stay behind the windscreen on my BMW.
I doesn't get any simpler than this.

VERY HANDY
Pros: very handy, cool idea.
Cons: screw slightly too long
I purchase the RAM-B-237U Camera Thread Mount in Nov. of 2009. Excellent idea. But, threaded bolt is a little too long as it bottoms out in the hole against the inner body of the camera. If the camera in question does not have strong enough reinforcement there you could punch through the body into the electronics. A small screw or a couple washers will fix this (I used a couple washers), but the end user shouldn't have to modify his purchase to make it work. A small locking nut could be supplied by RAM, or shorten the screw slightly. Overall I am pleased with everything I have ever bought from RAM, and definitely recommend their products.

Used to mount my Zumo 550 to the riser plate on my ST1300. Works great but I have a nasty habit of tightening them too much and they shear off. I bought an extra one for a spare.

1" BALL FOR VIDEO CAMERA MOUNT
I use this product to mount a video camera to the windscreen post in my 1961 Piper Colt. Being an older airplane there is a good amount of vibration, but this 1" Ball in my RAM mount holds the camera rock solid for fantastic videos.

WORKS AS EXPECTED
The only thing I would point out is that there doesn't appear to be a "quick release" camera mount available (at least in the RAM parts list). This works just like you'd expect but it sure would be nice to be able to pop the camera off in a jiffy to take other shots. With this you need to take the time to un/screw... not the end of the world just something to consider.
