Manufacturer Description |
The RAP-B-121 Universal Clamp Base RAM Mount is a Marine Grade Aluminum and High Strength Composite Plastic Mount with a AMPS hole Round 2.5 inch diameter Plate End. The mount is designed with a RAM 1 inch diameter patented rubber ball and socket system that has adjustment point at the cradle plate and base. With a twist of the arm knob, you can move the universal clamp base mount to your optimum viewing position. This system is a universal mounting solution for both RAM and non-RAM designed products. The hole pattern found on the 2.5 inch diameter plate will connect to a large variety of third party cradles and mounts.
Note: This mount does not require any drilling for installation.
Universal Mount End Plate Design:
 The RAM-B-202 RAM Mount Marine Grade Aluminum Universal Plate has a 1.0" diameter Rubber Ball connected at right angles to a 2.5 inch diameter round plate. The plate has pre-drilled holes in the base plate, including the universal AMPS hole pattern. For a layout of the hole spacing and 1.0 inch rubber ball location, take a closer look with the RAM-B-202 Design Drawings (pdf file).
Note: This base plate will attach to any of the RAM plastic HOL holders, but generally the RAM-B-238 Diamond Plate is used.
Universal Mount Arm Design: The RAP-B-201 RAM Mount Dual Socket Arm is a 1 inch B size Ball Dual Socket Arm made of High Strength Plastic. The arm is 3.0 inches long between socket centers. The side of the arm includes a tightening knob which allows you to open and close the socket ends. For a layout of the dimensions RAP-B-201 arm, take a closer look with the RAM-B-201 Aluminum Arm Design Drawings (pdf file).
Universal Mount Base Design:
 The RAM-B-121B RAM Mount Powder Coated Marine Grade Aluminum Yoke Clamp Mount Base fits a rail diameter from 5/8 inch to a maximum of 1 1/4 inches. The 1 inch rubber ball is at a right angle to the plane of the mount so when connected to a rail, the ball sits parallel to the rail. To mount the base, simply place the yoke clamps around the rail and then screw the large knob at the end of the threaded rod. The hand tightened clamp makes this the perfect mounting system for rental planes and unusual shaped motorbike rails.
NOTE: The rail does not need to be perfectly round to mount this base.
