PERFECT SOLUTION TO AN AGE OLD PROBLEM.
Pros: fast,non-permanentinstallation, no holes to drill.

Most ancillary items you buy promise a lot and deliver somewhat less than advertised. The RAM vehicle floor mount plate is a well designed, high quality product that will meet your need for just about any mount application you can think of. I purchase one to evaluate it's quality and usability and like it so much that I purchased two more to put in my other vehicles.
The mount installs in less than ten (10) minutes, and is quite stout. I also purchased several of the ball mounts for the various HF/VHF/UHF radios I switch in and out of my trucks and cars. It is sturdy enough that it holds an IC-706MKIIG steady in my Jeep CJ5, even in off-road environments. The convenience of being able to quickly disconnect the ball mount with the turn of a single thumb screw is priceless. The design of the mount makes it quick and easy to remove the antenna and power connection, disconnect the ball mount, and the radio is in the house or in the trunk or lock box in a jiffy.
The other outstanding feature of the mount is the adjust-ability. This is NOT a gooseneck stem that will wear out with use. The support stems is made of a strong pliable metal alloy, that's stiff, but bendable.
Overall, I have to give RAM five stars for quality and innovation. No holes to drill and quick installation. This mount will hold up to outside environments (such as the Jeep) and still perform. I highly recommend this product to anyone that needs a non-permanent installation and/or had limited space for a radio mount.

QUALITY PRODUCT
Pros: easy to install, solid mounting, no rattle
Cons: wish it came in longer lengths
I use this to mount my Home Patrol 1 scanner. It is a secure mount that does not vibrate or rattle. I highly recommend it.

VEHICLE FLOOR MOUNT
I'm very happy. This thing works very well and is solid. Beware though, if you use it in a 1-ton Ford truck if will vibrate. Recently while on a trip in northern BC driving on icy snow pack I had hold the side of it whenever I wanted to check up on my Navigon readout. Even so, I've used other stuff that wasn't nearly as polished. I works!

WORKED PERFECTLY

Husband needed to mount a GPS on a new work truck that mistakenly didn't have a Nav system installed. He wanted the unit mounted in a specific location and didn't want it to move easily. This fit the bill perfectly. Actually it is quite tough to bend so once you get it where you want it stays put.

WORKS AS INTENDED
Pros: appearance, sturdy, flexible, solid
Cons: short shaft, shaft a tad too flexible
I mounted this into our overland adventure vehicle - the Rubicon. We mounted our Motorola Xoom that does USGS mapping. The aluminum shaft is stable enough to hold the pad in place but can be adjusted to suite your specific needs. I wish the shaft was a little longer because in the Jeep the pad sits just a little low in between the seats. There is adequate room for parking brake and shifter function but its a little close. Ram products are very well made.

CRADLE MOUNT WORKS
The mount works well. Mount arrived as described and with installation instructions. I was concerned about a passenger's comfort after installing it in my small RAV4 but I was able to place the mount away from any lose limbs.
Recommend? YES
