NICE REPLACEMENT MOUNT
Pros: cost, functionality, modular design Cons: none
I had an older Garmin StreetPilot with broken mount, the type that's built into the back of the GPS. Repair or replacement by Garmin would have been prohibitively expensive. The excellent on-line description of this RAM mount helped me figure out that this would solve my problem. By just gluing the RAM ball into the socket in the back of the Garmin, I was able to mount the unit again.
The RAM unit is better than the original Garmin mount. It's adjustable for height as well as angle because of the ball joints at both ends of the arm. It also brings the GPS a little closer to the driver than with the original mount.
The modular design of the RAM mount means it can be used with a different device in the future. Only the ball, currently glued into the GPS, will need to be replaced. Since it's attached to the rest of the mount with screws, it can be removed and replaced very easily.

GOOD MOUNT BUT LACKS BALL(S)
Pros: locking rubber mount Cons: undersized ball allows gps to fall
This is a very solid window mount. The rubber locks on to the windshied and stays put, which is what you want. You can also make angle adjustments, so it's versatile to almost any vehicle. The only complaint, and it's a significant one, is that the "Ball" doesn't lock the GPS in place. Rattle over a pot hole, or some rail road tracks and your Garmin is likely to fall from the windhshield.
