PRONE TO BREAK...AGAIN
Pros: as far as i know the only cradle for a gpsmap 76 Cons: breaks easily
This product has a design and manufacturing flaw builtin. The lower side tangs have a seam from manufacturing and every time the gap is extended to remove the unit it becomes weaker and weaker. After ca. 100 unit removements it breaks off. I now have my 4th cradle and this time I'll modify it so it won't break again.

NOT SUCH A GREAT MOUNT
Pros: easy to install Cons: cheap material, cracked right away
Although the mount is the one I need for my GPS, I installed it on my jet ski two weeks ago, and it installed very easily. The GPS fits very snugly, but the mount itself has already cracked between each of the screws. Hopefully it lasts for the rest of the season, but I'm not too confident.

LOVE THE RAM PRODUCTS.
Pros: versatile and solid. Cons: none
Have used Ram mounts for my snowmobile, fishing boat and kayak and they work great. They are tough and don't slip once locked into place. Even in very cold weather (-20C plus) they never broke. Got this new holder because I replaced my eTrex with a Map 76. All my other Ram components are 9 years old and still work like new.

CRADLE FOR GARMIN GPSMAP76CSX
Pros: flexible mounting position, no vibration Cons: none
Fits the RAM mount I originally purchased for my TomTom One with no problem: take out two bolts, put in two bolts. The combination of the very secure cradle and the RAM mount keeps the GPS from vibrating. I'm able to mount it on the side windshield close enough to me so that I can read what is, after all, a very small screen. It is very simple to remove the GPS from the cradle. Well designed and well made.

EXCELLENT FOR GARMIN 76CSX
Pros: robust, simple
I struggled with the Garmin mount for a long time. This is MUCH better. Easy, robust, secure. I simply installed just the diamond base mount RAP-326MU on my atv, snowmobile, and motorhome. Simple, effective.

REALLY POOR QUALITY
Pros: nil Cons: it breaks as easy as styrofoam
The problem with this mount is poor craftsmanship. Mine broke after two weeks. In order to install the GPS unit, you need to spread the two legs at the bottom of the mount. As you do that, damage occurs. After about five installations, the legs break. RAM will replace them as they have a lifetime warranty, but in reality what is the point if it keeps on breaking. I have told RAM about this, they did not reply.

RAM MOUNT FOR GARMIN GPSMAP 76CSX
Pros: secure fit for gps mounted on a motorcycle Cons: none
Perfect fit, well made and rugged. I have mounted on a motorcycle. GPS removal and inserting will be done frequently and is easy to do. This is my second RAM GPS Cradel. I had one for another GPS model.

CRADLE
I'm giving the cradle a 3 star rating because it has 1 great quality and 1 bad quality. It's great 'cause once you finally have your gps "snapped" in the cradle it's not going anywhere with good visibility. It's bad 'cause it feels like I'm going to break it just to get the gps in or out of the cradle.

AEROSPACE ENGINEER
This cradle is poorly designed. It is very difficult to get the 76Cx/76CSx in to and out of the cradle. The lower arms must be severely bent to get the GPS in and out and this is best done using two hands. I honestly don't expect it to last long.

USED ON SNOWMOBILE
I have a Garmin 76cs and used mount RAM-B-138-GA14 to mount it on my snowmobile. Thing works great! I was afraid that with all the bouncing and jarring motions, that it wouldn't hold steady unless I tightened it ridiculously tight. Well, I was worried for no reason. I mounted the base to the dash with four nuts and bolts, and put the rest together per the directions, and it was surprisingly stable. I can position it perfectly for use while riding, and it didn't move at all while riding. I highly recommend this item! Now, I'm ordering a similar setup for the car!
