VERY STRONG CRADLE
Pros: very strong and light.
Cons: none
I have 2 of these cradles. One for my motorcycle and one for my truck. This RAM cradle is stronger than the stock Garmin cradle! I use it with a Garmin 276C GPS.

GREAT GPS MOUNT
Ordered the RAM GPS mount (RAM-HOL-GA7U) and the accessories to mount it on my motorcycle handlebars for my Garmin 296 GPS. I have aviation, road, and marine databases in this unit so it is always being switched between the airplane, boat, and car, and now the motorcycle too. The mount works great - unit snaps in and out easily but is held firmly when seated. I have no fear of it coming loose on its own and it has shown no signs of doing so.
Recommend? YES

RAM CRADLE
Pros: very good fit and function.
Cons: ram website could be more helpful.
The RAM cradle for my 296 GPS fits and works so well it may as well be a Garmin part. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a solid 5. My only minor complaint is with RAM. When I purchased a clamp mount from RAM, after specifying my specific brand and model of GPS, they should have told me I would also need the RAM cradle as well, as the one that came with my Garmin will not fit directly to the RAM mount. It cost me an extra weeks wait and additional shipping costs to finally put everything together. I have been using RAM products in Floatplane and Helicopters for years and as always they work very well.

ONLY PROBLEM
I really wanted a unit that would lock the carrier to the GPS. It is mounted on my motorcycle and I'm afraid a real goog bump could dislodge the GPS and send it flying.

GREAT GPS CRADLE
Pros: secure hold, excellent fit
Cons: no locking mechanism
I recently purchased a Garmin GPSMap 478 with the intention of mounting it on my motorcycle. After looking through the various options, some of which were very expensive, I settled on the RAM cradle. I am glad I did. This cradle holds my 478 very securely. It snaps into place and gives absolutely no indication of letting go. I highly recommend RAM mounts for all of your portable electronics.

WORKS GREAT
Pros: you won't lose your gps
Cons: none
I've used the mount in an aircraft, in my truck and on my motorcycle and it's held up superbly.
I was a little worried that it held the GPSMap 495 differently than the stock Garmin mount but it actually holds the device more securely.

SIMPLE QUICK AND SECURE
Pros: fair price, secure, mounting screws stainless,
Cons: non really....
Great mount for the 276 series...Can be mounted directly to the dash of a UTV or with the ram ball mount system…Has good firm hold of the unit….
