All cables can stay connected to the unit while in the RAM cradle.

 To help ensure you have the Garmin nuvi 5000 Mount you require, take a look at the list of available RAM Garmin GPS mounts on the RAM-HOL-GA28 Series of Garmin nuvi 5000 Cradles and Mounts Page. Here you can select from suction cup GPS mounts, flat surface screw down GPS mounts, GPS car mounts, non skid weighted GPS mounts and more bundled with the RAM-HOL-GA28 Garmin nuvi 5000 Series Cradle.
Included with the Garmin nuvi Cradle:
The cradle includes a set of two nuts and bolts to connect the cradle to any of the RAM compatible mounts.
Garmin nuvi Cradle Manufacturer's Description: With mounts available that are perfect for cars, trucks and motorcycles, RAM is your best choice for Garmin nuvi 5000. Able to connect to the nuvi in seconds, RAM can get your GPS exactly where you want it so it's easy to read and use. Order a complete kit and an extra base of your choosing and transfer nuvi 5000 with ease to another location. Simple design that will not block or interfere with any function of the Garmin nuvi 5000.
Important Mounting Information:
If you already own this cradle, or any other cradle with a hole pattern that will match the RAM Diamond Plate hole spacing, then you require one of the RAM Assemblies listed below. If you are looking to purchase a complete mount for the above cradle, take a look at the Complete Mount list below.
This cradle does not ship with a RAM ball. To add a 1 inch ball to this cradle you need to purchase either the Aluminum Diamond Plate with 1 inch ball (RAM-B-238) or Plastic Diamond Plate with 1" ball (RAP-B-238). If you need to mount this cradle on a 1.5" ball system, you will require the Aluminum Diamond Plate (RAM-238).
