FIRST ORDER WITH GPS CITY
Pros: great product, great service, fast shipping Cons: none
Ordered the Ram Mount with male thread for my Yamaha FJR1300. The ball works perfectly, as I expected from a RAM product. In particular, I was extremely happy with the service provided by GPS CIty. Excellent shipping and tracking notification and I received the product in two days. I will definitely shop here again for my mount and GPS products. Good job GPS City!

DAAAAAH!!!!!!!!
Pros: it works Cons: tool marks in the stem
You dont need to file flats or use pliers with a rag, just your brain! Use a drop of purple locktite if you want (you dont need it but,,) finger tighten, clamp the ball with the arm you'll be using with the base's ball in the other end and use it as a wrench.

DOES THE TRICK
Pros: quality is good and worked as advertised Cons: a flat surface for a wrench would be handy
The Ram ball M10 X 1.25. was very goood quality and no problem with the install. I have read where some folks have complained that there is no flat surface for a wrench to grab onto. I agree it would be nice but a pair of pliers with a rag over the ball tightens it enough. I have but on 2 thousand rough miles and its stayed in place just fine.

MIRROR MOUNT FOR METRIC BIKES
Pros: plug and play Cons: needs flats on the flange so you can tighten,
This is a perfect fit for the mirror-mount socket that is unused on some metric sport and sport-touring bikes with fairing mounted mirrors. Great way to mount a GoPro camera, GPS, radar detector or satellite radio.
I filed some flat spots on the flange above the threads so I could tighten the ball using a 13mm wrench.

GREAT PRODUCT - BAD FINISH
Pros: versatile, convenient, ingenious design Cons: poor qc on the finish.
The RAM Mount Ball is ingeniously designed and quite versatile. It does what it is supposed to do - provide a mounting system without cluttering up the handle bars. Sadly, the finish on 5 of the 6 pieces I have purchased shows poor quality control. The shank of the mount is covered with black from the ball. It just looks bad. My only other complaint is there is no way to put an open end wrench on the mount to snug it down.

RAM MOUNT 1.25 PITCH MALE
Pros: simple, fits into unused hole, Cons: only able to finger tighten (not really an issue)
You get what you see and what you pay for, no real complaints here. You do have to finger tighten it as there is no space between the ball and the threads, but that really wasn't a problem. Worked very well with the Aquabox I bought along with it. Used both products on my 08 Kawasaki Ninja 250 for a trip down to Maryland, the unit remained very stable throughout the trip.

RAM MOUNT M10 X 1.25 PITCH MALE THREAD ON 1 INCH B
Pros: works perfectly Cons: doesn't make toast and magically fill my gas tank?
Fits the orphaned left mirror mount hole on the FJR perfectly. I had previously been using a 'U' clamp mount for my iPhone and this was much cleaner and got it up higher for easier viewing.

ANOTHER EXCELLENT RAM PRODUCT
Pros: ram quality and versitility Cons: aluminum threads
I used this ball mount, to secure my gps to my ATV. The M10 threads screwed right in to where the side view mirror would go. This helped me really clean up my handle bars. Only down side to this product is it has aluminum threads and no way to tighten it down with a wrench. SS threads with a flat milled at the collor would be nice.

RAM THREADED MOTORCYCLE BALL MOUNT
Pros: puts gps close at hand Cons: no convenient way to tighten in place
I ordered the ball mount as an alternative to using the full suction cup type mount for my GPS. The motorcycle I ride does not have the mirrors mounted on the clutch and brake lever reservoirs, so these threaded (10mm x 1.25 pitch) holes are not used and available for use.
It looks like a nice piece, however, there are no flats on the short aluminum stalk on which to gain purchase with a wrench for tightening it into place. The only way this can be accomplished is by using a pair of pliers, or Vise Grips, to grab the stalk. Since the aluminum is soft, this invariably boogers the stalk with the teeth from the tool.
I may grind some flats on the sides of the bottom flange should I eventually decide to use this mount.

USED ON BUELL XB9R
just wanted to let everybody know that this can be used on a Buell firebolt. The controls on the firebolt have a mirror mount which is not used and capped with a plastic plug. Simply remove the plug and scre in this little guy. Perfect for mounting a GPS!
