MOTORCYCLE DUAL RAM MOUNT

Tried to purchase this item at Wing Ding from two other companies. They were both sold out the first day at a higher price. Found that GPSCity.com was much lower in price and that included the shipping.

LOWER BALL CAME LOOSE AND FELL OFF

Pros: versatility
Cons: rattles apart, not enough clearance on sports bike

What's there to say? I guess it needs a better locking washer, etc.

BRAKE RESERVOIR MOUNT

Pros: mounts out of the way and blends in nicely
Cons: residue of rubber on base of ball detracts quality

most versatile and unobtrusive mount for GPS and Coffee cup holder. Can be mounted left or right. Location for cup holder is not ideal since road vibrations, bumps etc travel directly into the mount and cause some annoying spilling.

RAM MOUNT FOR GPS ON GOLD WING

Pros: easy to install. solid built. durable.
Cons: non

Added the dual ball with upright ball to my Gold Wing to mount my GPS farther forward from the lower ball I had. Works great. Comes with both metric and English screws so it mounted on the Gold Wing with no problem.

FITS WELL

Fits the clamp holes on my 2008 HD ultra-glide without removing the stock clamps. I just shaved the spacers a little, removed the stock screws and replaced with the screws from the kit

RAM MOUNT MOTORCYCLE HANDLE BASE

Pros: extremely handy to be able to mount two devices.
Cons: spacers are made of plastic and will deform.

I ordered two of these. One was for a 1984 Honda Shadow, and the other for a 1996 Honda Goldwing. The literature did not indicate that it would fit the Shadow, but it does fit. In fact, this item will fit any motorcycle that has the correct bolt hole spacing. The spacing on this mount is somewhat variable due to the slotted holes on the mount itself. On the Goldwing, I used the upper ball to mount a Garmin GPS cradle for a Nuvi 200 device. I used the lower ball to mount a Sirius cradle/radio. The mount works very well with one exception. The mount is provided with two spacers and these are made of plastic. When tightening the bolts, the plastic spacers eventually deform and the mount, the brake handle, and the rear view mirror tends to become loose. On the Shadow, I had to remove the mount, and install two washers for each spacer. The washers more evenly distributed the stress on the spacers, and all is well. On the Goldwing, there isn't enough clearance to mount two washers on each spacer, so I mounted only one and that appears to be working very well. I highly recommend this mount, but something should be done about the spacers. Either include four flat washers with the spacers, or try steel spacers.

MULTIPLE

Pros: works great for my plan
Cons: none

Does a great job. Holds all mounts where I want them. Built an extension aluminum plate and mounted this in a horizontal position making it further away from me. When mounting on handle bars it is too close. (I'm far sighted)

GOOD BUT MAKE SURE IT FITS YOUR MACHINE

Pros: well made & solid looking
Cons: have to be careful to make sure it fits

I found this part would not fit on my older machine ( 91 Honda ATV) Too bad becausue it's a solid well made porduct and would be a perfect fit for the location and offer lots of mounting possibilities, I'll have to go to a fastener shop to get screws with the right length and thread patterns.

MAybe RAM could publish a "fits these machines" chart

EXTREMELY FUNCTIONAL

Pros: very versatile, easy install
Cons: have to trim spacers, lower ball can loosen

I bought this piece to mount on my 2009 Yamaha/STAR Venture. I have two arms attatched to this mount. One holds my GPS and the other holds my Itouch. I recently took a 600 mile trip and really enjoyed having my music and maps right at my finger tips. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. A couple of things to look out for: You may have to trim the plastic spacers that mount in between the master cylinder and the RAM mount. Also, the lower ball (which you have to screw in) can come loose. Mine did not come any where close to backing completely out. But, it did get loose enough to create some slop. Keep in mind that you will probably need to buy a long and short arms when you purchase this mount so you can get everything to the right viewing angle.

TITLE

Pros: works great just like all the ram accessories
Cons: won't allow the proper angle without more stuff

I like the RAM mounts, and am changing all my mounts to them, but this one doesn't fit the bill without accessories. Unless you're mostly blind, you'll need a long AND a short arm PLUS a double ball fitting to get it away from your helmet and retain a proper viewing angle.

If it works OK for you, it's a great mount otherwise.

GLAD I BOUGHT THE 2 BALL VERSION

I was skeptical when I first saw the RAM mount. But, after a very straight forward installation, I will buy a mount for the other handlebar. My GPS is close at hand a very easy to read now. The second ball mount it soon sport a cup holder or MP3 player. Thanks for a great product.
