What's Included With The RAM Mount Plastic Camera Handlebar Rail Mount? The RAM Mount Plastic Camera Handlebar Rail Mount ships with the following items included:
RAM Mount Plastic Camera Handlebar Rail Mount Description The RAM High Strength Plastic Rail Mount consists of the 1'' dia. ball and socket system with RAM Plastic Universal 1/4''-20 thread centered on a 2.5'' diameter Plate. This mount is designed to be a universal mounting solution for both still and moving cameras.
BASE DESIGN: The High Strength Plastic Rail Base has a 1.0'' diameter Rubber Ball designed to sit at right angles to the mounting rail. The Rail 'U' Clamp will fit a circular rail with diameter from 1.0''.
For a larger rail, you can purchase the RAM-B-231LSS Large Rail Base for circular rails with diameter from 1/2'' to 1 3/8''.
To mount to a circular rail, simple press the plastic 'U' clamp around the rail and then connect and tighten the small nut and bolt to close the 'U' clamp.
NOTE: Placing a rubber lining (not included) between the tube and the mount for a tube with a diameter less than 1'' will help the base 'grab' the rail.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MOTORCYCLES USES: This base is not recommended for Motorcycles due to the heavy vibration. An alternative would be the RAM-B-231 and RAM-B-149 Stainless Steel U-Bolts.
ARM DESIGN: The High Strength Plastic Standard Length Double Socket Arm is 3.0'' long when measured between socket centers.
CRADLE DESIGN: The High Strength Plastic Universal Camera Plate has a 1.0'' diameter Rubber Ball connected at right angles to a 2.5'' diameter Plate with a centered 1/4''-20 thread. The plate adds support to the thread, by allowing the camera to rest on the plate, creating a stable connection with the camera.
