NUVI 50 GPS UNIVERSAL MOUNT
Pros: holds my gps. plan worked! Cons: missed sock drawer arranging due to dremel time.
I had to dremel out an area on the backside of the mount so access would be available for the power cord. No big deal as most universal mounts have some sort of issue, that's why they're for EVERYTHING.

VERY VERY VERSATILE
Pros: versatility Cons: none i can think of
Unlike other holders that are made to hold just "one" specific brand or item, this holder can be configured to hold "anything. " when the phone, gps, radio, or whatever device you are using it for becomes obsolete and you replace it with something else. . . . you wont have to buy another holder for your new device. this device comes with 3 different sized tabs and multiple mounting positions for the tabs so that it can be customized for any device. the tabs can be positioned so that they do not block or interfere with buttons or power cords, etc. this item is also durable and very well made.

EFFECTIVE, BUT...
Pros: versatile, good grip, effective Cons: uglier than a box of warthogs
I bought this to hold my Montana on a bike, on the basis the custom holder wasn't available. When it arrived I was worried, I couldn't see how it could possibly hold something as big as a Montana and wondered if I'd been given bad advice by the gpscity folks when they suggested it.
But anyway I fitted the longest fingers, added the plastic covers, eased the Montana into place, held it with the GPS facing downwards (over a sofa) and shook it hard. The Montana didn't budge.
I subsequently fitted it to my bike, took it for a ride, and the Montana didn't budge. So it's clearly brilliant from a functional perspective, as the Montana isn't a small unit.
On the downside, it's ugly. I mean, seriously, this thing really doesn't look good. You could probably find nicer looking warthogs without too much effort. But that said it does the job and it's clear that without too much adjustment it would hold anything from my smartphone to my wife's smartphone to my old 60CSx to just about anything else I could possibly want to carry.
Now the custom mount is available I'll quite possibly get one of those and sell this on to someone who needs the flexibility it offers. But then again since it works so well I might just put up with the looks.

UNIVERSAL GPS MOUNT FOR MOTORCYCLE
Pros: it does accept my gps unit Cons: too bulky and big for bike handle bars
I wasn't very pleased with the size of the product, it is much to big for a motorcycle and takes up to much room that a motorcycle handlebar can't afford. I had previously purchased a custom fit mount from gpscity and was very happy as it had both a low profile and was not as bulky. I do have to say that the customer service at GPSCITY is tops. If and when a custom fit mount is created, I'll buy it in a heart beat.

EXCELLENT FOR MOTORCYCLES
Pros: very grippy, a solid ram product Cons: not "pretty" (but very functional)
Want to use your iPhone as a GPS on your motorcycle? Afraid it will fall, crash and shatter with a mount? Not with this! I ride a Buell XB12 which can have a lot of vibration and this mount has gripped my iPhone firmly for the last 2,000 miles without any problems. Twisties, 80 mph slabs, gravel and dirt roads -- all no problem.
I do have a rubber bumper on my iPhone 4 so that combined with the rubber grips on the mount holds it extremely well.
And depending on your tastes, it kinda looks like a mini-Transformer mounted on your bike! LOL

Pros: will secure any device tightly Cons: looks
Great product! It was hard to find a quality mount that could hold my Iphone since I had an otterbox protecting it. This mount will hold virtually everything. You can use different fingers and adjust them easily to keep a snug fit. I combined this with the triple tree fork mount and can now ride with my Iphone visible to me. With this, I can also film my rides by flipping the mount around the fork mounted swivel, then re-tightening down.

Pros: fast shipping Cons: gpscity don't accept paypal
I was looking for a holder for my iPhone 3GS. But my iPhone has a protecting case on it so the mount fitting just for the 3GS was not good enough for me. But this finger grip holder is perfect for me! You can adjust the fingers for any kind of smartphone. There are enough different fingers to make your device fit on mount. I ordered different things here and they shipped it one day later. It took exactly one week to get it in the Netherlands! I'm very pleased about GPSCITY.COM What I miss is the option to pay with PAYPAL.

GREAT PHONE HOLDER
Pros: can be adjusted for very secure hold. Cons: none that i've found.
I purchased this mount to hold my Moto. Droid on my motorcycle. It was easy to adjust for my phone and there was no doubt it will NOT drop it! Now I can see if I get a call or text message while I'm riding and can pull over and check on it if I think I need to. Of course, I can pull up Google Maps and use it to navigate. I have a car GPS, but the sun washes it out more than the phone. Also, I noticed that I can also adjust the holder to hold the faceplate of my ICOM 706 (Ham Radio) and use it in the car for that. I've purchased several types of RAM mounts over the years and have never been disappointed!

Pros: sturdy and very adaptable to different devices Cons: bulky and grips interfere with phone side buttons
I'm giving this 5 stars because it's a great mount. However, it may not have been the best choice for my Samsung Convoy cell phone. UNIVERSAL MOUNT
I needed a mount to hold a Garmin Vista HCX on my atv. I have a foarm case on the gps but I believe the mount would be just as effective without the case.
My decision to try, or experiment, with this type mount has not been regretted. I have hit some very rough patches of trail, more like trails on top of or over rocks, and the gps has stayed put.
I used one of the lower platform brackets and the two larger or longer arms in the bottom slots. This is the setup I used initially have not changed it one bit.
I can remove the gps easily and quickly by either pulling straight up or by pulling forward. I can see the screen and all buttons (mounted on the side of Vistas) are accessible.
I believe you could actually make two gps mounts from what you get in this universal mount package. I think you could cut the back plate into (horisonitaly of course) and since you get two platforms (or top/bottom brackets) and four arms each of varying lengths you would have two mounts. Have not done this but certainly looks doable.

WORKS AS ADVERTISED
Pros: well made and very adjustable
I bought this mount to hold a small Motorola two-way radio on my motorcycle. Using four of the medium fingers on the sides and the short fingers top and bottom, it holds the radio firmly but allows easy removal. An added bonus are the little curls at the bottom of the side fingers. The connector cable for my system slides into the curls and is held in place so that it doesn't blow around while the bike is moving. This setup also holds the cable when the radio is removed, keeping it from dangling.

UNIVERSAL FINGER GRIP CLAMPING CRADLE GREAT FOR G1
I was looking for a solution for my Google G1 Android phone. This cradle is perfect! This allows me to put the phone in an easy line of site so I can answer with speaker phone and keep my eyes on the road. Of course, I live in a state where being on the phone while driving is not yet outlawed, but I still see the importance of hands-free and the little blue tooth head set is just part of the solution.

UNIVERSAL MOUNT
Pros: easy to assemble Cons: did not come with back bracket to mount to ram bal
It appears to hold my trimble Juno SB well. It's almost like the three different sets of holding fingers were not intended for this GPS but does do an adequate job.
I had to "rob" the back plate bracket that mounts to the ram ball from another RAM mount that I own.

UGLY, BUT FUNCTIONAL
Pros: flexible and adjustable Cons: appearance
This is certainly the ugliest, ungainly mount I've encountered, but the flexibility makes it all worthwhile. Mine had 5 short and 3 medium fingers, but it turned out that the longest fingers were best for my AT&T Tilt.

AWFUL AND FAILED
Pros: none Cons: the clips are weak
was recommended to buy this for teh iPhone, since I didn't want to remove my cover on my phone to use the other one available. One of the clips simply failed and the phone slid out during a bicycle ride. I didn't even notice it slip away and luckily somebody found it on the road and called us to return the phone (miraculous, I know). So I do NOT recommend this due to the weakness of the clips....there is a weak point where it 'curls' and it's way too easy to break with any stress whatsoever.

BEST UNIVERSAL MOUNT, GREAT FOR GPS, MP3 OR IPHONE
Pros: can be used with a variety of devices Cons: read above
Perhaps you could learn from my mistakes. I bought a TomTomOne 140 from Futureshop while planning a trip on my Gold Wing. I looked locally for a mounting for it. The TomTom has an unusual built in fitting for auto use and because of this, it makes it awkward to fit to anything else. Anyway I found GPS City on the web. This is a well set out website which trades in the US and Canada, but I didn't see my model listed. I did go back to Futureshop to see if they had another model similar to compare size to get a correct fitting, the last thing you want is for the GPS to jump off your bike at 65mph. Anyway I ordered a different mount which turned out to be far too large for the TT. So much for internet shopping so I decided to get the 'universal mount'. It is about 5" long by 2.5" wide and a half inch thick. It comes with a selection of different sizes of 'fingers' of different heights really and four neoprene grips which slide over your chosen ones. I have fitted five on mine and it holds different sized items rather than one which I really like. This means I can use this with my GPS, Sansa Fuze or Iphone and even my camera all without changing the fingers. These are all different sizes, so by just setting the fastners a little loose I can adjust them to grip either of my devices. GPS City ship very fast as they go by courier, so if you choose the wrong one it will cost nearly as much for the product for shipping so choose wisely! Live long and prosper! PS if you are fitting this to a motorcycle handlebar, you need to use a pair of washers between the back of the ram mount and the diamond shaped plate otherwise the mount will not sit flat or allow the fingers to be moved in or out. I was annoyed at first but the washers seem to have done it OK for me. You will have to get longer screws for the handlebar clamp, I used Allen screws.

UNIVERSAL MOUNT
Pros: good quality Cons: too large for my application
The product itself is quality and flexible for use with numerous electronic devices. On a touring bike or car it would be fine. However, I am using it on a sportbike with a tankbag with an IPOD Nano 8gb. The product is much larger than the IPOD and hits the tank bag/windscreen when turning sharp (parking), but is fine when riding. I sent pictures to RAM with a suggestion they make a smaller universal mount or a product specific mount, but I've got no response from them.

RAM MOUNT UNIVERSAL
Pros: adjustable, accept large range of devices Cons: none
Works great! I use it to mount my two way radios on a dirt bike and a Rhino. Even after a spill on the bike, the radio stayed in the mount. Mount is adjustable for a large range of devices.

UNIVERSAL MOUNT
Pros: versatile Cons: ugly looking
Excellent mount, I used it on my bike to hold my n95 and a friend tried it out on a point and shoot camera.
It is very stable and does not move @ all.
What I like about it, it's versatile.
Highly recommended if you want a multipurpose cradle/mount
