ONLY FOR CANS
Pros: good holder for cans Cons: can't hold tall beverage containers
This is a good cup holder for cans and other low-profile containers. water-bottles will ot work with this, as they are top-heavy and the cup holder will flip upside down.
this item could be improved by integrating a locking feature into the cup so that it could either be locked into place or swing freely, depending on the application.
another option would be to sell a separate cup holder with a ball mounted on the side of the cup (which is what i ultimately created on my own). I mounted the ball onto the side of the cup and now I can hold water-bottles without them flipping upside down.

RAM MOUNT SELF LEVELING CUP HOLDER
Pros: fits multiple size cups/drinks. foam coozie. Cons: not really.
I have beach bars on my bike. So, I needed to have the arm up really high to make it clear my bars/tank/key. Taller cups do NOT work in it. Trial and error. Ended up working great for me on my 3-day ride to Wisconsin.

GREAT MOUNT
Pros: easy to remove or attach to mount, cleans up good
It is interchangable with my GPS mount. I needed a place to put my pick up coffee in the morning on the way to work when riding my motorcycle. I did not want to add an additional mount on my handlebars, just to change my GPS mouont to a cup holder. Works great.

WORKS GREAT IF YOU USE COMMON SENSE! FOR MC RIDERS
Pros: solves a problem, and works great! Cons: pricey parts add up!
........................
Use common sense. Physics dictates you need all the pivoting axies level on the Cup Holder ITSELF.
Do that, and you can carry the average "Medium" size fast food cup just fine on your MOTORCYCLE's handlebars (wind and all). Cup or bottle's center of gravity too high? Suck down about 3 or 4 ounces quickly and you're good to go, and at very high speeds too.
Yep, no TALL water bottles! - So buy the smaller size and enjoy hydrating on the run!
To mount on YOUR MOTORCYCLE HANDLEBARS for drinks (or cameras too) you'll need (approximately) one each of:
"Small Motorcycle Mount Base 11mm Hole RAM-B-252U" This one is for Metric bike riders where your mirror threads are standard 10mm threads! Or choose any other single mounting point option. Think if your mounting point and resulting assembly are going to block your view/operation of any guages, switches, controls, or your usual filling of the gas tank. (This one works just great on my 2010 Honda Fury V-twin and causes no extra vibration in the mirror).
"Medium Arm B-Socket RAM-B-201U" (Yep get the Medium).
"1.75 inch Long Double 1 inch Ball Arm" (This is the KEY ITEM which gives you the ARTICULATION you WILL NEED).
"Short Arm B-Socket RAM-B-201U-A" (Put the Medium at bottom and this Short at top. You know that pesky Physics thing again - the way the entire Universe actually works outside of the confines of your own cranium - everytime!).
"Self Leveling Cup Holder Foam RAM-B-132BU" (This is for your cup, which doesn't ever spill because you think about what you're doing. BTW, it's nice to have a cruise contol on your throttle so you can go "look ma no hands" - even at 70mph while you take a swig even with your gloves on! What you don't know how to balance? Well you really shoudn't be on a motorcycle then. Actually it's easier than you may think because at speed your motorcycle wheels act as 2 actual "gyroscopes" which if you remember hold their orientation in space and make the motorcycle so stable you may be able to ride some highway for 300 miles or more with no hands! But remember, everyone is an individual and YOUR MILLAGE MAY VARY especially if you have a poor sense of balance!!!). (Honestly, don't do this in front of your mom or some Police Officer though).
Finally add on that larger bottom round size 1/4 x 20 threaded (the USUAL U.S.A. STANDARD SIZE) "Camera Adapter" if you have a video camera. It's listed SOMEWHERE on this website. That way you can take movies of your epic motorcycle journeys when you are not thirsty. Needless to say unscrew your camera off and take it with you WHENEVER you leave your bike for even a minute. Some theif would love to relieve you of it in about 5 seconds!
That's it. That's all you need. Bad news is the cost of these pieces add up (with shipping etc.) to around $70'ish.
But it really is nice not to go thirsty! And you want to re-live your epic adventures when you're old don't you?
Heck, if you're luck you may even catch that motorcycle accident on video. You know that one waiting for you around every corner and at every intersection when that dummy in a car swears "I never even saw him" (excuse me "or her" these days). Women riding motorcycles now-a-days are absolutely GREAT!!!!
Good Luck And Don't Forget To Wave! .........................

NOT ALL THAT GREAT
Pros: mounting system, Cons: not self leveling on a motorcycle
This drink holder holds a drink just fine but self leveling, it is not, al least not on a motorcycle. I have a handle bar mount and keep the cup holder behind the windshield. I must be getting an up-draft of wind from below because the cup holder is tilted when i ride. I think I would rather have a stationary holder but this one will do for now.

RAM CUP HOLDER
Works well for holding the coffee cup on the ride to work in the am. Found it to be a bit top heavy for my usual cup, so I used a Dremel tool to make the opening in the bottom larger. Now my cup slides down lower into the holder and it's perfect.

GOOD FOR 12 OZ CANS OR SMALL WATER BOTTLES.
Pros: works great for 12 oz cans Cons: doesn't work for taller containers
It you place taller containers in the holder it will tip over, spilling your drink out. The holder is made large enough to handle most any container and drink cups, but it cannot handle the height without the balance point being exceeded. What i did with mine is i made a small metal bracket that prevents the swiveling action in both directions, so the thing won't tip over. To make a better designed product would not look as nice as this does now, which is what i think the compromise was when they designed it. As long as you stick to 12 oz cans, it works as intended.

RAM MOUNT CUP HOLDER
Pros: well made. looks ok. not expensive. Cons: none
Works as intended. Well constructed. Even without the foam insert it will not hold the largest fountain cups, but that is not a big problem. I used a 36 inch long 1/4 id plastic tube to drink when using my full coverage helmet.

PRETTY GOOD
Cons: doesn't level out when taking off from a stop.
The cup holder gets stuck in a couple of positions when driving. Had to take my hand off the throttle to adjust the holder while driving so my drink wouldn't fall out. I think it needs more weight in the bottom to keep it level... wouldn't hurt to make it deeper too. That way your drink would sit further down in the cup holder. That would fix the leveling issue.

SELF LEVELING CUP
Pros: great idea Cons: mount separate
I am sure it will work great but when I bought it I thought the Ram mount would come with it! Now I find out that the mount is twice as much as the leveling cup! I devised a make shift mount but its not real good. I guess I will have to by the mount. I am looking for a discount or ebay item to cut down cost! Robert

HANDY CUP MOUNT
Worked great, had a bottle to dring readily availavble at all timeson bike. Others had to reach back in thier packs, lost bottles, ect.. Only down side was to use the correct bottle to fit the foam which are the small water bottles. It should come with an optional bottle with a squirt style cap not the threaded caps, hard to open when riding.

Pros: One of the best drink holders I've used. I've tried a lot of other ones but this seems to be the best. Self leveling, does not spill. Holds a variety of different drink containers. Cons: Would be nice if the sides were a little bit higher. Large water bottle may fall out if full. I recommend this item.
