Manufacturer Description |
The RAM-B-149-SPO1 SPOT GPS Satellite Personal Tracker Motorcycle RAM Mount is a Marine Grade Aluminum Mount with a Stainless Steel U-Bolt Rail Base and RAM Custom Plastic Cradle. The mount is designed with a RAM 1 inch diameter patented rubber ball and socket system that has adjustment point at the cradle and base. With a twist of the arm knob, you can move the SPOT GPS Series mount to your optimum viewing position.
SPOT GPS Mount Options:
 To help ensure you have the SPOT Personal Tracker GPS Mount you require, take a look at the list of available RAM SPOT GPS mounts on the RAM-HOL-SPO1 Series of SPOT Personal Tracker GPS Cradles and Mounts Page. Here you can select from suction cup GPS mounts, flat surface screw down GPS mounts, GPS car mounts, non skid weighted GPS mounts and more bundled with the RAM-HOL-SPO1 SPOT Personal Tracker GPS Series Cradle.
SPOT GPS Mount Cradle Design:
The RAM-HOL-SPO1 SPOT Personal Tracker GPS RAM Mount High Strength Plastic Cradle is designed to hold the following,
- SPOT Personal Tracker GPS (SPOT I)
All cables can stay connected to the unit while in the RAM cradle.
SPOT GPS Mount Cradle Plate:
 The RAM-B-238 Marine Grade Aluminum Diamond Plate is designed to connected to the back of the mount cradle. The diamond plate has a 1.0 inch diameter rubber ball connected at right angles to the plate, which connects directly to the 1 inch arm socket. The cradle includes the required hardware to connect the plate to the cradle. For a layout of the hole spacing and 1.0 inch rubber ball location, take a closer look with the RAM-B-238 Design Drawings (pdf file).
SPOT GPS Mount Arm Design:
 The RAM-B-201 RAM Mount Marine Grade Aluminum Dual Socket Arm is a 1 inch B size Ball Socket Arm with open socket ends. The arm is 3.0 inches long between socket centers and is finished with a Black Powder Coating. The side of the arm includes a tightening knob which allows you to open and close the socket ends. For a layout of the dimensions RAM-B-201 arm, take a closer look with the RAM-B-201 Design Drawings (pdf file).
SPOT GPS Mount Base Design:
 The RAM-B-231 RAM Mount Powder Coated Marine Grade Aluminum Rail Base has a 1.0 inch diameter Rubber Ball designed to sit at right angles to the mounting rail. The Stainless Steel U-Bolt and nuts included are designed it fit on most motorcycle round handlebars, or any circular rail or pipe with diameter from 3/4 to 1.0 inch.
To mount the rail base, place the top of the base on the rail and then slide the u-bolt around the rail, into the holes in the base top. Now tighten the screws onto the u-bolt until the base is clamped firmly. If you desire, you can now slot the black rubber covers over the exposed ends of the u-bolt.
NOTE: This base is completely rust proof.
For Larger Rail Mounting:
For a larger rail, you can purchase the RAM Mount Stainless Steel Large Rail U-Bolt for circular rails with diameter up to 1.25 inches.
