RAM GPSMAP MOUNT ON KLR650

Thought I would post pictures of the RAM mount in action on my 2008 KLR650. Not in action I guess really, but sitting the garage.

Other than a lack of finish on the rubber coating on the mount balls, have been very happy with the mount (RAM-B-149-GA41U).

Functionally it's perfect, easy to install and position, doesn't move at all during use, including bumpy roads and highway driving.

The gps itself (GPSMAP 62) works great on the motorcycle. Have the base maps plus topo maps for Ontario and the city navigator package. Mostly just use the trip computer as speedometer, odometers, clock, etc., but there are lots of features and options that make it very helpful.

Also use on occasion for navigation to places I've never been before, and no problems there. Screen visibility overall is very good with backlight turned off, even in direct sunlight. Battery life has also been great, no intensive to install a 9v or usb receptacle on the bike.

Happy trails!

A couple of years ago I decided I needed to add stereo to my V-Star Classic. A friend gave me a Ram mount to make installation easy. It has been rock-solid for the two years I've had it.
Naturally, when I decided to add an iPod Touch I ordered the Ram Mount from GPSCity, com.
The entire system is out of the way, easily accessible and protected.

2002 HONDA VFR800 CAMERA MOUNT

Camera Plate ATV UTV Mount RAM-B-149Z-2-202A mounted on my 2002 Honda VFR800 V-Tec using a HERO HD video camera. My buddy and I rode the Shenandoah National Park in VA and to record our ride I used the ATV UTV Ram Mount on my front right fork. The install was quick, the operation of the mount worked flawlessly and the video turned out great. The HD camera never moved from its position on the mount, not even during highway speeds.

The mount itself doesn't have any installation instructions but it's obvious that the rubber sleeve fits over the metal strap and the metal strap adjuster fits neatly inside the hard plastic fitting. Although this mount worked well on my bike, I cannot account for its use on other bikes. As long as the mounting and camera do not imbed the operation of your bike, then it should work as well as it did for me. Enjoy!

I've bought the Garmin GPSMap 62S last year. This year got a XR650L 2011 and wanted something hard and sturdy to fit it on.

So I selected the "RAM Mount Garmin GPSMAP 62 62s 62st Motorcycle Mount RAM-B-149Z-GA41U" as all guys on motorcycle forum recommended me. This Ram Mount can't be that easy to install. 2 screws ans that's it, installed.

Just ridden 200 km on roand and off road with it by now but I can say it's build tough, built to last for years.

Easy access to the GPS unit buttons. Easy as hell to remove and put it back on the Mount. I highly recommend this product. Cheap bottom price, high grade quality, tough, easy to adjust the angle.

E-Trex 20 / Ram Mount 1
E-Trex 20 / Ram Mount 1

I've had my E-Trex 20 for a couple of months now and found it to be a very reliable devise. I purchased it with the Ram Mount system for the E-Trex 20 but found once I went to install it, that the Ram Mount would not fit the devise because there was no room for the power supply cable once it was plugged into the devise.

I improvised and turned the ram mount up-side-down, used a few hand tools to modify the mount and now it works perfectly fine. I will purchase a new ram mount once it becomes available for the E-Trex 20.

Here are a few images of how this mount looks on my 2000 Yamaha V-Star 1100. Works great, very sturdy.

If anyone has any ideas on where to pick up some sort of plastic self-closing clasp to hold the wires along the underside of the gas tank, I'd love to hear them. For now, I'm relying on the old standby, duct tape. Fortunately, you cannot really see it from the side unless you're looking up at it.

MONTANA 600 AND SHORT RAM MOUNT

Being new to ATVing and back roads trail riding in New Brunswick I found myself concerned with how many turns I took and hoped that my memory could get me out of the woods.

Needless to say it wasn’t long before I started searching for an appropriate GPS unit. As usual my search started and finished with GPScity.ca. I pondered for a week using their vast knowledge, Q and A section where I decided on the Garmin Montana 600 with RAM Mount.

This unit and the Topo Canada maps allow me to track all adventures so that I can enjoy the outdoors riding at the same time finding my way back. I was able to personalize menus and shortcuts for quick access on the trails. The short RAM mount positions and safely secures the Montana right in the perfect spot for the driver. It has been a great addition to my new Can-Am Outlander!

This is my third GPS purchased with GPDCity.ca and I have never been let down.

I recently purchased an ATV and took out my old Garmin eTrex Legend HCx GPS to map the trails around my home, the device was just loosely attached to the handlebars and the screen was damaged as a result. I then purchased a new Garmin Dakota 10 GPS and got the RAM mount from GPScity.ca which has worked out great, the mount installed in less than 5 minutes and its flexible enough to place the GPS where you need it and it can be easily tightened to where it'll stay in place and not move even on long bumpy rides.

RAM MOUNT LOWRANCE XOG GPS CRADLE

I purchased a Lowrance XOG GPS because I like that I can create my own screens. I modified a speedometer screen that gives me great info and if I'm using the GPS to direct me to a destination the pop up turn display works wonderful.

I wanted this on my motorcycle. I found a RAM mount here at GPSCity. The price was right (very inexpensive) shipping was reasonable and very fast. I also purchased a motocycle RAM ball and extension.

I found the cradle and mounts to be very sturdy and really holds the GPS tight.

Here's a few pictured of the setup.

GO PRO MOUNTING ON A V TWIN

GPS units, phones, Ipods, etc. are all relativly easy to mount on a motorcycle with Ram Mount devices. Camera's create a new problem. Mounting AND vibration.
I needed to find a way to mount my GoPro HD video camera to both my Goldwing and my Roadstar and make it fairly simple to switch back and forth. It also had to be pretty solid and minimize vibration.

The Goldwing was pretty simple as I already had a couple of ball mounts on it and it rides smoothly. It worked on the flex finger mount fine, both thru the windshield and around it.

The Roadstar presented more of a challenge, both in places to mount it and vibration. I had tried using the mounts that came wtih the camera on the handlebars and the lower crash bars. Both had incredible vibration, so bad it was nauseating to watch. The vibration on the lower crash bars was bad enough to break the plastic mount and I lost the camera. GoPro was very cool about it and replaced it for me but I wasn't going to mount it again without coming up with something more solid and stable. Searchin thru GPS citys selection I came across the tripod mount. As GoPro had the female side I ordered that and called to order the male side. They led me to the same item in aluminum rather than plastic as well as the handlebar mount and the long arm. While I'm still somewhat leary of the plastic female side from GoPro (paying attention Ram Mount), I'm way happy with the video quality I'm now able to get in spite of the V twin vibration with the mount on the bars, extending beyond the fairing's windshield, and resting against the mirror mount. Just need to come up with a good teathering idea. I can't post video here so you can see how much better it is now so here's a few pics of the mounting of both the camera and my smart phone/GPS/music player.

After searching for gas stations while touring along the Blue Ridge Parkway, calling for roadside assistance somewhere in Tennessee and not knowing exactly where I was at (Well, there's a cornfield on the left...a cornfield on the right, too. Does that help?), and having my meticulously compiled paper directions melt away in a thunderstorm four hours into a week-long tour, I figured I'd better get a GPS. I settled on a Garmin Nuvi 550.

After some research, I decided the RAM system turned out to be the best mounting solution. Solid, dependable, and clean looking. I've been using it for several years now without a single problem.

I just ordered up a mount for my motorcycle and will soon be ordering another one for my Spot II satellite messenger.

HONDA TRANSALP GPSMAP 62 INSTALLATION

I ride a 1987 Honda Transalp - the Paris-Dacar replica machine - primarily on back roads and rougher gravel roads in eastern Ontario, thus the use of the GPSmap 62 in the photo (a recent birthday gift).

I've rubber mounted the RAM mount (RAM-B-149-GA41U) along with the Garmin Serial power and Data cable (010-11131-00) from GPS City, and an additional Stainless Steel 1.25 in u-bolt for the large diameter bars on the Transalp.

It's a very clean arrangement and I found that with the rubber mounting, the 1.25 in u-bolts were perfect for the job.

Thanks for the excellent service GPS City!

Looking for a quality and reliable bracket for my Garmin GPSMAP 62s to use on my R1200 GS. Searched the web and I Found RAM Mount. But there were no photos and and any information to use specifically on GS.

So after I installed my RAM Mount "Garmin GPSMAP 62 Motorcycle Mount RAM-B-149-GA41U" I decided to share the photos with you out there. Cause I believe the placement of the GPS is superb. It doesn't interfere or block the instruments. You can change the angle of the ram mount depending on the angle of the wind shield. And no problems at all.

Very easy to install. Simple and very clever design. I'm very happy with the RAM Mount for GPSMAP 62.

Unlike some reviewers no problems reaching to the usb socket or "quit" and "enter" buttons on the blow.

Highly recommended.

During the summer of 2008 I took a 14,000 mile motorcycle ride from Florida to Alaska, as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories of Canada, and back. The trip lasted fifty-two days, but the memories will last a lifetime!

The photos were taken along the Dempster Highway, which is the only road to Inuvik, NWT, north of the Arctic Circle. The weather on the way up was wonderful; however, the weather before and during the return trip turned much of the "highway" into a motorcycle mudbath!

Note the latitude in the closeup of my Garmin StreetPilot 2610. That photo was taken north of Inuvik, at the northernmost point of the trip. I use a RAM Mount to attach the GPS to the bike, and the mount and GPS worked well throughout the trip, and they still do today.

I purchased a Motorcycle mount for my Garmin 765T and it worked better than I had hoped for. One of the features in the Garmin is to track the trip and download it into Map Source. This was the first trip with a group from work. I had no idea where we were going so to take the roads again would have been a stretch. With the GPS on the handle bar playing music through the radio and tracking the whole trip was a great experience.

The mount was absolutely the best, The mount was stable and adjustable as I had to make minor adjustments for comfort. Again thanks to the staff for your help and I have attached a couple of pics of our trip.

AWESOME MOUNTS!!!!

I searched around forever to find a mount for my GPS that I could use on both my bicycles, and my motorcycle. I enjoy riding long distances on both, and have been lost many times. But now that I have a new 11 month old daughter to tow behind me it is more important than ever to know where I am going!

I purchased the Ram Bicycle kit for mu NUVI 500 to attach to my commuter bicycle, and 2 more ball mounts. One for my Trek road race bike, and one for my 2000 Harley Davidson. I love this product on all three! Thanks Ram, and GPS city!

I have been using a homemade GPS mount on my Giant Seek 2 bicycle. It took up too much room on the butterfly/trekking bars. I needed room for my headlight.

I'm planning a long bicycle tour this summer. My Garmin 76CSx hand held GPS with "City Navigator North America NT" software should help me keep from getting too lost. It will also help me track my speed and mileage.

The RAM mount from GPS City holds my Garmin unit securely and is easy to dismount when I am not using it or when I am away from the bike.

It is incredibly easy to adjust the GPS to just the right position and the rubber elements in the mount will protect it from the pounding transited through a solid frame. There are not shocks on my touring bike.

We left Calgary toward Banff in late September hoping to beat the mountain snow. Mexico was our destination...off road.

We had a Garmin GPS 60CSx to follow a track assembled from trips previously taken by other riders, a SPOT Satellite Messenger for friends to follow our progress on the web and in the case of an emergency and needed major assistance and an Olympus 770SW camera to stand up to the weather and pounding to record our trip - all mounted to the handlebars via RAM mounts. Very slick!

The GPS 60CSx was wired into the bike's electrics and we changed the SPOT batteries only once as a preventative measure in the 19 days of the trip.

Over 90% of the trip was off pavement and most of the trip was on two-track trail. We covered 5,800 km from Calgary, Alberta to the Mexican border in New Mexico, crossing the Continental Divide 27 times.

Each day was a ride up and over mountains, across valley floors, crossing pristine streams and passing through the occasional small town all in the most amazing and varied landscape North America has to offer. Truly one of my favourite trips ever! I can not recommend it enough. We will do it again.

Hello fellow RAM users.

I finally re-did my RAM motorcyle mount setup. I have an '05 Honda VT750 Aero Shadow. I would like to thank the guys at GPS City for giving me assistance with this setup since there is no pre-made part that i needed. It starts with a 1" u-bolt w/1" ball (all the parts are marine grade). To that is attached is attached the 3 1/2" arm. To that is attached my Garmin Map 76 and my ipod touch via a short 2 1/2" arm off to the left side.

The 3 1/2" arm is what has been customized. In order to get a proper ball on the left side, I removed the existing bolt and replace it with a correctly cut piece of ss 1/4" threaded rod. I then replace the existing tightening knob and washers on the right side. I have plenty of rod left over to other customized set-ups when i need to. I think it works and looks pretty good.

I got this Ram mount and Cradle for my new Nuvi 550 GPS to use on my bike. I am glad it also came with the U-Bolt for the handle bars. The 1st picture is the mount on my orignal mount ball.

As you can see in the picture I already have a Ram Mount ball on the bike, but that is for my Video Camera to take movies of trips.

TRACKING MY RIDES

I love my Ram mount for my Magellan Explorist. I have a hobby of mapping places to ride dirtbikes in Idaho. In the last couple years I have mapped over 30 dirtbike trails with pictures and commentary. I also use it on my street bike to document some of the best riding in the USA. I have also mapped and documented 7 rides through some of the most beautiful and twisty roads in Idaho and Wyoming.

Took a 400+km run today from Kitchener up to Stayner and return. Ran some fantastic "No Winter Maint" roads in the Creemore/Hockley Valley area. Going Home? Easy with the Garmin 550 Nuvi with the RAM mount on the handlebars.
Only dropped the bike once on a wild muddy hill....drop off, with a hard left turn at the bottom. Hence the missing hand guard. Rider only mildly bruised.

GPS RAM MOUNT FOR SPORT BIKE TOURING

I needed a simple and inexpensive solution to mounting my GARMIN Nuvi 260W on my Yamaha FZ6 fordoing some tour riding. I was fortunate enough to find gpscity.ca as their selection, prices and shipping were perfect for my needs and I didn't get killed with cross border shipping charges!

I selected a simple handlebar mount RAM system along with the "Ezy-Mount Quick Release Adapter System" for easy on/off of the GPS unit.

This is the perfect addition to my motorcycle for upcoming touring. Thanks gpscity.ca!

I took the trip of a lifetime in August of 2008, riding from the SF Bay Area of California to Sturgis South Dakota for the Sturgis Bike week celebration. Out of 5 riders in our group, I was the only one who had a GPS. I had used it before while riding, but had just recently decided to buy an actual mounting system so I could use it while riding. I ended up buying a RAM MOUNT system from GPSCITY.COM and by the end of day one I was already thinking this was the best money I had spent in preparation for the trip. I was able to set each destination for the day into the GPS and very single time we got into a situation where we weren't exactly sure which way to go I had 4 people pointing at me and telling me to get to the front of the pack and lead us out of confusion...haha. I pretty much lead the pack around for most of the trip, and you know what they say; "the view never changes unless you're the lead dog!!" Great product!!

RAM GPS MOUNTS GO ANYWHERE

My Ram GPS mount holds my Lowrance H2O gps on every thing. It gets transferred from ATV to Motorcycle to Boat to Truck, it takes me to the Duck hunting spots in the dark hours of the morning and helps me find my way on back country rides through the woods. Ram Mounts are not a flimsy floppy thing, they are very sturdy and rock steady, they have to be for me.

CRUZEN WITH MY GPS

Ian at GPS City Canada (gpscity.ca) who has always given me great service told me that if I submitted a story, I had better take a picture of my motorcycle with its RAM mounted iWay 500C in an interesting place...!! Problem is, I never have a camera with me when I go out for a scoot. You'll have to settle for a picture taken by a 9 year old kid who was riding behind his dad during our excursion to beautiful Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia. Beleive it or not, this is the best picture we got from that trip that clearly shows the GPS mounted to my windshield and handlebars.

I have two GPS Units, the iWAY 500c by Lowrance, and a Garmin Nuvi 250. I use interchangable RAM mountig hardware for the various applications I have for these units. I have purchased all of my GPS gear and accessories from GPS City and am thoroughly impressed with their service. I order my goods online and stop by their Calgary shipping depot to pick up my purchases in person... thanks Ian!

Although I have used the Garmin Nuvi with it's new RAM bracket on my Honda Shadow Aero motorcycle, I prefer the iWay on my bike. The screen on the iWay can be set much brighter than the Garmin Nuvi and is much bigger - these attributes are also very handy on the handlebars in the bright sunshine. I have hard-wired the iWAY into the electrical system with the accessory chord it came with - would love to find another one of these hardwire chord connections but Lowrance has discontinued the iWAY 500c model. I don't have to worry about an internal battery fading since the iWay is hooked up directly to my motorcycle battery and alternator. I have also installed a 25watt amplifier and small speakers on my bike so I can take advantage of the iWay's 10GIg of MP3 music storage!!

Unfortunately the picture includes me and a residental street in Chilliwack BC. NExt one I'll make sure we have a nice background!!

MY LEGEND MOUNTED ON MY MOTORCYCLE
Mounted on the Bike
Mounted on the Bike
After the tip-over
After the tip-over

I love my GPS receiver, and I knew it would be just a matter of time before I mounted it on the bike.
When I had a minor accident and broke the trip meter reset knob on my speedometer (which acts as a gas gauge), I knew it was time to install the GPSr.
Since installing it, I have really come to respect the technology that goes into these things, as it never failed me - until another "incident" in a parking lot, that all but ruined it. Amazing though, even after being smashed, there was enough of the LCD screen unaffected that would still display my speed and my mileage.
I could even reset the odometer if I could guess what my inputs were doing! lol!

It has since been replaced with another Legend.

Also, the speedometers that came with BMW's in the 70's were not known for their accuracy, so it is real nice to have an accurate speedometer.

RAM CLUTCH MOUNT FOR MAGELLAN MERIDIAN GOLD ON FJR1300 MOTORCYCLE

I have been a satisfied RAM Mount user for over a year now. I installed my first RAM Mount system to house my Magellan Meridian Gold on my Yamaha FJR1300 prior to attempting my first Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 to Atlanta, GA from my home in Maine. You can see the installation here: <a href="http://www.robertmichaud.com/html/gps_mount.htm" class="difFont" target=_blank>http://www.robertmichaud.com/html/gps_mount.html </a>. I appreciate how solid the mount is and how simple and reliable the product is. Now I am going to add to it by replacing the single clutch lever bracket with a double one so that I can add a holder for my new Pioneer AirWave XM radio.

FYI - the Iron Butt (<a href="http://www.ironbutt.com" class="difFont" target=_blank>www.ironbutt.com</a>) was a success! Here's to many more enjoyable miles in the saddle!

RAM UBOLT MOUNT FOR GARMIN ETREX LEGEND ON KAWASAKI BF750 MOTORCYCLE

Here is a picture of my Garmin eTrex Legend mounted on my Kawasaki BF 750. It is mounted using the Garmin eTrex Handlebar Bike Mount. As noted in the picture I have my cell mounted as well.

This picture was taken on a fishing trip with my brother and granddaughter, this past summer. My brother has the same GPS and mount on his Yamaha Grizzly.

I save all tracks and over lay the topo maps of the various areas that we travel and also mark all waypoints of interest for possible return visits or for information for others.
This picture was taken at a location on a river in Nova Scotia called Peter Stillwater.

The eTrex is my second GPS, I used a Garmin 12 prior to the purchase of the eTrex. I have the topo maps of NS loaded in the eTrex and have found them very useful for exploring.

RAM UBOLT MOUNT WITH LOWRANCE IFINDER PRO ON A HONDA VTX 1300 MOTORCYCLE

It stays steady on the road and is great to check the turns (switch-backs) ahead. With the standard arm it moves it closer to see as you ride.
