MOTORCYCLE MOUNT ON A SUZUKI EIGER QUAD.
Pros: mounting was easy
Cons: don't really have any.
I went looking for a mounting bracket that would work on a Suzuki quad. I reviewed what is available on GPScity web page for mounting on handle bars of a motor cycle and this is what I found. I contacted the GPScity order desk and they were extremely helpful. I ordered it and it mounted quite easy since the handle bars on the quad have a lot of additional items for its operation.

purchased along with The RAM Mount Garmin GPSMAP 78 Series Motorcycle Mount RAM-B-149-GA40U. I attached the u-bolt to my quad and the ram mount on my 2009 yamahaha yenture lite. The ram mount is very interchangeable with the u-bot mount on my quad.

RAM MOUNT STEEL
Pros: non slip security on steering arm

This was purchased as a spare for my GoPro camera mount. I am finding different places that I want to mount my camera, so I just decided to but extra mounts. Now if I can just get the dog to stand still, i could attach one to his leg.

Pros: well built
Using mount on atv seems to be able to hold my humminbird. 587ci fine. We will know if holds up this winter ice fishing season. I have many other Ram mounts and if anything like those im sure will be happy with it.

THIS IS WHAT I EXPECTED AND GOT.
Pros: description of the item is what i received.
Cons: better finish
The SS U-bolt mount is what I was looking for. I have it mounted on my snowmobile handle bar for holding my Garmin GPS. The size was correct, but the threaded ends were too short to use the caps that came with it. The finish could have been a little better, but is acceptable.

STEEL U-BOLT MOTORCYCLE MOUNT BASE
Pros: holds well with modifications
Cons: mount diameter too big for head rest rods
See photos before purchase where the U bolt is mounted on car seat head rest and then an aluminum arm to a camera mount.
Was planing to use the U bolt mount on my vehicle's head Support rods (part that slides into the car seat). When the 2 halves, mount and U bolt are in close (minimum position) it is still too big for the head support rods. Had to cut a piece of rubber hose as a spacer, slide that in the head support rods and then use the mount and u bolts over it for a good fit. Other than that holds well with my self levelling cup holder.

Pros: holes line up perfect for tank mount
Cons: a little short for gas tank location
Needed a mount for my GPS, on an '04 VFR. Gas tank bolt holes line up perfect and with the 5" extension it's good. Still, wish the stem was a little longer, as when adjusting the unit for visibility and accessing the gas (moving tank bag) I have 2 rub marks on my tank. I'll have to mend that and make an extension stem myself. Otherwise, exactly what I needed

STURDY, BUT LACKING REFINEMENT
Pros: sturdy, corrosion resistant metals
Cons: poor finish
This mount is sturdy and does what it is supposed to do however, the paint/finish is poor, especially on the stem near the base of the rubber ball where random aluminum is exposed. I bought another one of these about 2 years ago and it had the same issue, so it looks like RAM thinks the poor finish is acceptable. Since it is aluminum, the exposed areas won't corrode, but RAM should be able to do better and make it look as good as it functions.

GREAT MOUNT FOR MY BICYCLE
I purchased this base so I could use my DeLorme GPSr on my Giant Roam 1 bicycle. For my relatively simple needs, I din't want to spend $50+ on a dedicated bicycle computer and this mount base fits the bill perfectly. It attached easily and very securely. I also have the suction cup base so it's simple to swap the GPSr between my vehicle and bicycle. Very highly recommended!

exposed threads on bolts after nuts are tightened much longer on one side, also rubber cup does not stay on (even on the longer side) because is too big thus finish is untidy.So I didn't put them on because I knew they would fall out. I wonder why you are asking since I saw that somebody already made a similar comment a few months ago but you did not take action to fix it.

MOTORCYCLE MOUNT BASE
I am currently using this mount for my ATV. I also purchased the screw down mount for my boat. It is very easy to transfer my hand held gps from one too the other (Boat/ATV). The cradle holds my handheld snuggly and I have had no problems. It is very easy to change the position/angel of the unit as conditions warrant.

BAD QUALITY BOLT AND NUTS
Pros: it works
Cons: soft nuts, too wide rubber cabs, paint wearing off
This item is really not the best quality. The paint on the bolt was already wearing off when I received it, the the nuts are incredibly bad quality and the caps don't fit properly I already lost one on a single trip where I didn't adjust the GPS even once.
It does the job, but it's really annoying to know about the quality.
I am not aware of an alternative, but if you find one, try that instead.

JUST RIGHT FOR ATV HANDLEBARS
Pros: easy install, affordably priced
Bought Ram GPS Mount and an extra U-Bolt Mount base so I could transfer my GPS from my Yamaha Quad to my Polaris ATV.
This mount worked great and fitted both the Yamaha and Polaris ATV handlebars perfectly!
I must admit I was a little disappointed with the rubberized paint finish on the ball mount as if seems to easily flake off.
Since these mounts were used on my ATV not big deal about paint chipping off - someone with a high end motorcycle might have a different opinion.
Overall this mount base Great, it's easy and is reasonably priced.

Keep in mind when installing this RAM u-bolt to employ some true RUBBER wrap. I know guys that swear by bicycle inner tube material. Myself? I use 3M Electricians RUBBER tape.NOT the vinyl electrician's tape.
You can trim any excess with a sharp razor knfie..take your time. Be sure to keep future get-offs in mind. You do not want this ball snagging body parts as you try out for a Superman audition. Not good. Play is safe and mount ball FORWARD or under handlebard.

This is the heart of the RAM system. Buy an assortment of these units for your ever-changing demands. One you have this mounted, you can then swap about you GPS unit quite handily. Make sure you tilt ball forward so in event of a get-off from bicycle, motorbike, boat or ATV, you are not installing new vents in your body!

JUST WHAT I NEEDED!
Title says it all. I just needed this mount to finish up installing and extra Zumo 450 cradle on my SV650 so I can move it back in forth from my Vespa GTS.
Only took a few days for it to be shipped and an easy install just like other Ram Mount products.

UGLY, SCRATCHED BLACK PAINT ON IT NOW
Pros: base unit itself is good
Cons: u-bolt is too big, ugly, and basse unit can crack
U-Bolt will look hideous on any bike -- looks 20 years old & damaged when new. I called and they said since May 2010 this is how RAM finishes them. Will look bad even on an ugly motorcycle. Is too big & loose (1-1/16" opening) for a 7/8" handlebar, but too small for 1-1/8" handlebar without significant bending. Also, alumnium base will crack easily if you torque nuts enough to keep the too-big U-bolt from slipping on an off-road bike.

The plastic u-bolt insert is a nice addition to prevent metal-to-metal handlebar damage. U-bolt could be longer so it comes all the way through the locknuts.

The motorcycle handle bar ubolt mount is simple, tough, but ugly. It would be a distinct improvement to provide a powder coated ubolt to match the color of the bracket. The silver / black contrast makes it look cheap.

Good product, using complete system on bicycle and have recently had two good crashes and my beloved iPhone came out perfect! That alone says something to me. Might seem overkill for bike but the fact that those wrecks totally bent aluminum rear rack says something about how secure system is.

I mounted this on my snowmobile. The machine handlebar was too small for the mount so I had to cut off about 8mm of thread so that the attachment would swivel properly. Not Ram's fault but it would be nice it they threaded the steel a bit further. Due to lack of snow haven't had many opportunities to try it's ruggedness. Time will tell if it stands up to our Canadian prairie winters. Other products are interchangeable with each other so you can mix and match like I did.

WAS MISSING THE RUBBER SCREW CAPS
Cons: missing rubber bolt end caps as pictured
all it is, is a ubolt and a ball mounted to a formed piece of metal.. not much to it.. it works just as it should.. however mine was missing the covers that go over the sharp ends of the screws.. I emailed RAM and they were supposed to be sending them.. but almost a month later I still have not seen them..
It still functions fine.. but looks unfinished and the edges are sharp. plus the elements have more exposure to the end of the metal.

Pros: solid, little to no vibration on the gps
Cons: rubber caps for screw ends could be tighter
Very solid on the bike, GPS reads easily as there is minimal vibration. Easy to mount and adjust to ideal location. One minor issue is that rubber caps for screw ends could be tighter, used silicone to make sure they stayed on.

Cons: neck between base and ball could be ¼ to ½" longer
I used the U-Bolt Base with out the "U" bolt,the holes lined up with two screws holding the front of my tank on (VFR 08).It fits well to the tank and allows the system to hold to the ball. I got some longer screws Also it was nervously close to the tank so I ground some metal off the clamp that was attached to the ball. I think adding a ¼" to the neck of the ball base would be a better choice.

RAM MOTORCYCLE & ATV U BOLT MOUNT
I have u bolt mounts for my motorcycle and three of my ATV's. Works extremely well holding the Ram mount for my Map76CS. Easy to order, delivered in a very timely fashion and works great. Not much else to say!

WORKS WELL
Added a piece of old tire to the curved part of the u bolt to take up space and for extra grip. Had on a DR650 with 5" arm to hold my Rino 130 and it never moved.
