The RAM-B-166-G3 RAM Mount Marine Grade Aluminum Mount with 3.25 inch Locking Suction Base consists of the 1 inch diameter ball and socket system with a RAM Round 2.5 inch diameter Plate End and Garmin StreetPilot 7xxx cradle hardware.
This mount is designed to be connected to the four hole pattern on the back of the cradle that is included with the purchase of the Garmin StreetPilot 7xxx Series GPS units.
Mount Cradle Holder Design:
The RAM Aluminum 2.5 inch diameter Round Plate has a four hole AMPS pattern which will connect to the back of the Garmin StreetPilot 7xxx series cradle. The Garmin StreetPilot 7xxx series cradle is included with the purchase of the GPS unit. The RAM Mount Plate and hardware connect to the following Garmin units:
- Garmin StreetPilot 7200 GPS
- Garmin StreetPilot 7500 GPS
All cables can stay connected to the unit while in the RAM cradle.

Mount Base Design:
The RAM-B-224-1 RAM Mount Plastic Locking 3.25 inch diameter Rubber Suction Cup Base, with Marine Grade Aluminum Diamond Plate, is designed to have an extra strong hold on any smooth non-porous surface. With a twist on the locking knob, the suction cup base adheres to any glass¹ or non-porous plastic surface, as found on our Non Skid Base with Plastic Disk and Plastic Adhesive Disk.
Connected to the top of the Suction Cup is a RAM-B-238 RAM Mount Marine Grade Aluminum Diamond Plate with 1 inch diameter Rubber Ball. This plate allows the suction cup to join to an open socket found on the RAM 1 inch diameter socket arms.
¹ Important legal note to California and Minnesota Drivers
Suction Cup Base Mounting Options:We currently offer three alternative solutions for mounting your suction cup mount in a location other than a windshield:
The Super Grip Non Skid Base with round plastic plate, is a weighted base that can be placed on your dash without an adhesive or drilling. Simply place the base on your dash, or any flat surface and then attach the suction cup to the round plastic plate. This is perfect when you want a temporary mounting solution but the windshield mount just isn't the answer.
The Suction Cup Adhesive Disk with round plastic plate, is a great mounting surface to attach the RAM Twist Lock Suction Cup. Simply stick the the plate to any flat surface and then attach the suction cup to the plate. This is perfect when you need to attach your suction cup mount to your car dash vertically or horizontally, rather than to your windshield.
The Suction Cup Drink Cup Holder with round plastic plate, is a great mounting surface to attach the RAM Twist Lock Suction Cup. Simply place the base into any cup holder in your vehicle and then attach the suction cup to the plate found on top. This is perfect when you need to attach your suction cup mount away from the windshield or when you just want the mount off the dash.
RAM Mounting the Garmin StreetPilot 7200 and 7500:
The Auto Mount for the Garmin StreetPilot 7200 and 7500, that is included with the purchase of the unit, can be connected to the AMPS hole pattern found on the RAM-B-202-G3 Cradle Connection Plate. Once a RAM ball is connected, you can then build a mount to suite your needs.
