GREAT FOR FIBERGLASS KAYAKS!
Pros: easy on and off and the size is perfect.
I use this mount on my kayak for my Garmin Montana 600. Holds it in place and does not come off without unlocking it or alot of force. I do keep it all tethered together to my kayak just in case.

SMALL AND SOLID!
I just got back from a flying trip where I used this mount to hold our digital camera. I mounted it on the side of the windscreen where I could control the camera with one hand. Easily took pics and video with no vibration. Very happy with the results.

JUST WORKS
Applying the Suction Mount is very slick: Just press it onto the smooth surface and rotate the collar. This makes it a little more convenient to use than suction mounts that have a lever-action to apply the suction.

GREAT OPTION FOR SOME APPS

Cons: this could lose suction and drop/damage
I actually purchased this to install an iPad into one of our aircraft. After visits with several other pilots who have tried the suction cup mounts, I am not going to use this. The hot/cold changes may affect the suction and the unit will fall, possibly damaging the held item. If one remembers to disengage it and place on the floor/seat area, it would still be ok. I am opting not to use this. They can drop during flight also, risking damage to your held item. Might be an expensive fix.

GREAT PRODUCT
I have this cup mounted to the dash of a 28 ft cruiser , not the window and it is holding securely. It is supporting a Garmin 441 chartplotter and has been in 2-3 chop on the water with no problems. I was concerned about putting screws in on the dash and took an eight dollar gamble. Glad I did.

Mount holds firm. I can't believe how great it works. I can set in on an old motorcycle tach or a windshield in the truck. All the Ram mount stuff I've got is fantastic, and this is no different.

AWESOME
Super strong and durable. I stuck it on my bean bag and it hasn't budged. Garmin makes a good GPS, but their accessories are junk. Ram is just awesome. I also bought the threaded camera ball so I can use my flip on the dash and take some good video while driving.

THIS PRODUCT SUCKS BUT IN A VERY GOOD WAY

Cons: it might be a bit tall for some applications
This is a very solid base.
If the surface you attach to is not porous then it's as good as using the 2.5" flat plate and four #10 sheet metal screws.
You twist the base 1/4 turn to lock and unlock it.

This product has a very robust and unique design ( A trait that I've come to love with Ram products), it is user friendly and reasonably priced. The only downfall to this product is that it has a tendency to detach from the windshield if left in the direct sunlight ( at high temperatures) for an extended period of time.

SUCTION MOUNT FOR B-BALL RAM ARMS
This suction mount is very easy to use, and locks down solidly on any smooth surface. I've used this in my van, with no failures whatsoever.
In general, I am 100% satisfied with the quality of the RAM Mount components. Their price and high quality make them perfect for mounting just about anything anywhere. The variety of mounting methods and cradles/boxes/holsters means I can mount pretty much any electronic device with ease. In the future, I plan to avoid all other mounting systems (Like the Canadian Tire cheap holsters and mounts) and sticking to RAM Mount only.
I would also like to mention that GPS City is easily one of the best online retailers I have dealt with. My order was processed quickly, and I received my items within 2 or 3 days (Shipping from Calgary to Regina). In fact, I plan to place another order with them very soon! A+ quality and service guys, keep it up!

The RAM Mount Suction Mount Base B-Ball Cone RAP-B-224-2U is very good. I had to replace the stock suction mount that came with my Garmin Street Pilot because it broke. I had already purchased the cradle mount for this unit for my motorcylce. The suction mount holds like a rock and does not come loose like the stock one did.

This is a great way to get a ram ball mount on glass. Like most suction cups, it won't stay on other surface. But if you're looking to install onto glass, it's perfect.

IMPROVED SUCTION MOUNT
Pros: improvement over older version
I have the older version suction mounts and they tend to break their seal and fall off. It does take a while for this to happen, but they do fall. Just have to remember to re install before using. The new improved suction mount works great. With a very clean window surface, my mount stayed stuck for a 3 week period and still holding (5 weeks so far). I use this mount for my snack plate on the road, which can get heavily loaded down at times...

Cons: somewhat hard on the fingers when tightening.
This is suppose to be the smaller of the suction mount bases, yet it is almost too big for the standard adhesive disc supplied with Garmin Auto GPS units. It is a little hard on the hands when tightening, but will stay in place if you mount and tighten it correctly.

STICKS REALLY WELL ON GLASS (AND NOTHING ELSE)
Pros: totally solid, good quality product.
Cons: only sticks on glass.
I can hang a full size videocamera on this, roughly 1.5 pounds and it stays on. It sticks well on glass. It may not be designed to stick on plastic, and it doesn't stick on plastic at all. Very solid. You just press the base up against glass, turn the base clockwise til it stops and it is good and stuck. To remove, turn the base counterclockwise and then pull on the tiny 5mm tab at the base to break the seal.

SOLID DURABLE!
I've used this a few times since I purchased it. Comes off easily, and goes onto the windshield easily. Holds my eTrex Legend nicely - and because it's RAM I can use it in combination with other mounts.
Once the suction cup is on the windshield it is solid. I remove it when not in use - no idea how it would hold up if left on for a long period of time - but so far it's perfect for my needs and hasn't shown signs of failure.

I needed a suction mount to attach to a friction dash base I also purchased (since Minnesota has this ridiculous law that you can not attach anything to your windshield. Before complying with this bad law I found that it was much safer to attach your GPS at your line of sight near the rear view mirror rather than having to take your eyes off the road and look for it down on your dash. But, it is a significant fine and they take your GPS if you are caught, so what can you do?). This suction mount does the job perfectly.
