SORRY CANT RECOMMEND THIS ONE
Pros: good price Cons: get what you pay for. magnets to base not strong
Every product I have ever owned from RAM has been first class. GPS City is a first class retailer. I just cant recommend this item. The magnet to metal plate attachment is just not very strong. If you are going to use this YOU MUST also secure it to the base with a velcro strap, rubber band, or O-Ring as any kind of bump will detach your item. I am using a Beltronics RX65 and no way will it hold strong enough. The universal finger mount with velcro in the base would be a better choice. Sorry RAM, you missed on this one.

WORKED PERFECTLY
Pros: works as intended! Cons: none so far
Put the metal magnetic strip on my Valentine 1 radar detector and it worked perfectly. Allows me to remove it from my bike and put it back in my car easily so I only need to own 1 radar detector

AWESOME
Used on my Escort 8500 X50 and it works like a charm! The magnetic plate is strong enough that I never have to worry about it.

MAG MOUNT
Pros: strong, simple, super convenient. Cons: none for street and tour riding
This is a great way to go if your device is unaffected by the magnetic field. I use it for my Escort 9500. When leaving the bike, a simple grip 'n' twist releases the detector so it can be secured elsewhere on the bike or slipped into your jacket pocket. Great idea!!

MAGNETIC POWER PLATE III HOLDER WORKS GREAT!
Pros: once on, it will not release until i twist it. Cons: none
Using this to hold my Whistler Radar Detector on my motorcycle. The plate needed a mount that I was able to make. The detector never moves or jumps out. With velcro or even the plastic velcro, it would come loose after a few bumps or potholes.

SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE
Pros: solid mount, quick install and remove from base Cons: magnets are very powerful - beware!
The RAM Power Plate magnetic mount is just the thing for mounting a light weight item with a flat base - radar detector, satellite radio - where you need the unit to be held securely, but easily and quickly removable. I use one for mounting a Valentine radar detector on a motorcycle. The unit never moves, but I can disconnect the power lead and pocket the detector in seconds if I'm stopping for gas in a questionable location.

WOW!!
Pros: easy, simple, and does what's it made for Cons: none
This product is excellent, and VERY easy to install. Strong magnets hold most any item. I use mine on my Valentine 1 radar detector, and work like a dream. Also, quick shipping and the best price I was able to find on the net. Thank you GPS CITY

WORKS WITH ISSUES
Pros: secure when properly installed Cons: magnets rattle depending on rpm
I found once set up on my motorcycle it worked ok. I had to replace the mounting tape with better quality. The supplied tape let go. Thank god for duct tape.

GREAT PRODUCT
Pros: great ram product (as usual) Cons: none
I bought this from GPS City for mounting my Escort Solo S2 radar detector on my Honda Goldwing. When used with the brake/clutch mount (dual ball) and the short arm, the detector is perfectly positioned and held securely in place. I simply twist the detector to remove it from the mount when I park and secure it in the trunk.

MAGNETIC PLATE
Not too pleased with this item. I mounted my Bel 995 radar detector to the adhesive (appears to be 3m two sided molding tape) and the unit has pulled off the tape a couple of times. It's not strong enough to hold the unit in place. Haven't had time to work with getting a better mounting, but need too.
