Manufacturer Description |
The Large RAM-HOL-UN3U Plastic Side Clamping Cradle is designed to hold a large amount of different kinds of cell phones and electronic devices, including the Blackberry range of Phones.
Using the Cradle:
This cradle has padded locking side clamps that close tightly on the item you want to hold. To release the clamp hold, simply press the button found at the bottom side of the cradle which will spring the clamps open. At the base of the cradle are two small support legs that move along the base edge of the cradle. The legs support the bottom of the item securely in the cradle, while allowing cable connection to the unit.
Important Cradle Use:
The RAM side clamping cradle is designed to be used in a closed cabin environment. The side clamping cradle is only a light weight cradle and may not hold your device in a high vibration situations as found on a motorcycle. If you intend on using the mount on a motorcycle, it is recommended that you secure the mounted device with a lanyard.
Universal Cradle Dimensions:
- Minimum Grip Width: 2.25 inches (57.2 mm)
- Maximum Grip Width: 3.13 inches (79.5 mm)
- Side Clamp Height: 1.75 inches (44.5 mm)
- Side Clamp Depth: 0.93 inches (23.6 mm)
- Cradle Spine Height: 3.88 inches (98.6 mm)
- Cradle Spine Width: 2.31 inches (58.7 mm)
NOTE: The top of the cradle is open, so the items in the cradle can be larger than the height of the cradle.
If you require a different sized side clamping cradle there are three other options available.
1. Small Plastic Side Clamping Cradle (RAM-HOL-UN1)
2. Medium Plastic Side Clamping Cradle (RAM-HOL-UN2)
3. Large Deluxe Aluminum Side Clamping Cradle (RAM-B-120B)
Included with the Cradle:
The cradle includes a set of two nuts and bolts to connect the cradle to any of the RAM compatible mounts.
Important Mounting Information:
If you already own the cradle shown above, or any other cradle with a hole pattern that will match the RAM Diamond Plate hole spacing, then you require one of the RAM Assemblies listed below. If you are looking to purchase a complete mount for the above cradle, take a look at the Complete Mount list below.
The cradle does not ship with a RAM ball. To add a 1 inch ball to this cradle you need to purchase either the Aluminum Diamond Plate with 1 inch ball (RAM-B-238) or Plastic Diamond Plate with 1 inch ball (RAP-B-238). If you need to mount this cradle on a 1.5 inch ball system, you will require the Aluminum Diamond Plate (RAM-238).
