SPLIT DECISION
Pros: voice recognition
Cons: window mount
I liked this GPS until the mount started giving me problems. I'm just glad I bought the warrenty. I liked the text-to-speech, Voice recognition, and Bluetooth. These were great features to have in a GPS. But the Window mount stunk. If you choose the Tom Tom 720, buy a mount with good suction.

WOULD RECOMEND
I have used my GO 720 around home & twice out of state to find many destinations & it has worked extremely well. This is the only non marine unit I have used & found it easy to navigate.

TOMTOM GO 720 NOT SO FAST!
Cons: very bad mount
Never really tried the GPS! The mount was so poorly designed It was sent back. The Gps kept falling out of the mount (in the house) so I did not chance it in the car!

NOT TOTALLY SATISFIED
I thought I had researched well enough to select a good GPS for my car. Unfortunately, I didn't realize there was older models still being sold. I do like the brand, but I wish I would have known what year the item was produced. My decision to purchase would have been different. I prefer not to buy refurbished items of technology, now I need to make sure of the manufactured date. I don't want to buy old technology either.

GREAT VALUE
Pros: size and ability to modify maps
Cons: the blue tooth only works with cell phone
I purchased this for my motorcycle because of the screen size and thin profile. It works great.

GPS UNIT
Cons: usage is not intuitive, cumbersome to use
I have not had a good experience with the tom tom. It started with the wrong set up language and loaded maps from Guam. Now the unit has shut off and won't turn on. I previously owned a Garmin and found it to be much more user friendly. I tried the Tom Tom because of the map update feature, but the con's outweigh the pros for this user.

BAD VOICE "CONNECTION", SOME USELESS COMMANDS
The voice giving directions cut in and out like a bad cell phone connection.
Some directions are not useful: At 70 mph "Turn left in 250 feet" is less than three seconds away.
I will be returning this unit and going back to the Magellan 4040
