Description: Here we go through the Main Setup Menu in the Humminbird 597ci HD. Press Menu twice, then scroll over to Setup, there are 2 modes that can be manipulated on this model; Advanced and Normal. Under Normal Mode, users can change the depth from Fathoms to Feet. Distance offers either Nautical Miles or Statute Miles. The Speed can be shown in Knots or Miles per Hour. The Triplog can be reset from this menu, and the Factory Defaults can be restored. Turn the Sounder (Sonar) On or Off. Control which sounds are heard; All Sounds, Alarms Only or No Sounds. The Screen Snapshot can be enabled or disabled, these images can be saved to a data card when one is present.
The Advanced Mode options include Demo Balloons, which are pop-ups that provide information about that screen or field. Select Readouts are another additional feature allowing users to customize their display fields.Temperature Offset and Aux. Temperature Offset can be set to a desired value. Speed Calibration can be adjusted. The Local Time Zone and Daylight Savings Time can both be set in this menu. Change the Position Format to the correct formula. The Digit Format can be chosen and the NMEA Output can be turned On or Off. All other features are the same as Normal Mode.
