| The Garmin 10 is a great unit. Altitude seems to be within +-20' and position <15'. Battery life is at least 10 hrs so far. The only problem I have with this unit is the magnets in the base are very strong and not removable. I cannot get it near (within 18") of a compass without it throwing the compass readings off significantly. | |

| Purchased the GPS 10 about a week ago and set it up on my Dell 600M.I was immediately pleased with the sat reception compared to my Garmin GPS 76S.
The pairing is very simple but I tried it without reading instructions.Mistake definately, after I read the instructions and found that you need a pairing passcode I paired without any trouble. The unit is very light, compact and easy to mount in your vehicle with velcro strip.I put a strip in my auto and my wifes auto. The unit last a long time on batteries and the included cig adapter is a real plus.I drove around with my laptop in the passenger seat and was impressed with the voice prompts telling me how far and when to turn.I was able to navigate a plotted route just by listening to voice prompts and just an occasional glance at the screen more out of curiousity than necessity. The directions and plot were very accurate and I am thrilled.
More to follow later but I think I will purchase a second unit without software to use in my auto only. This GPS seems to be very accurate, easy to use, light, small and user friendly. So far I am very pleased and still learning about some of the neat features of this unit.I loaded the pocket pc software on my wifes HP5555 for her to use as a sales rep.She is very pleased but is still learning the functions, menu's and how to use.She likes the voice prompts and the maps are a real asset to her.I will add more later when I really get all my test completed. So far I am extremely pleased with the unit and impressed with the ease of use, accuracy of this gps.Kudo's to GARMIN in my book for another good unit.Deffinately an improvement over my grayscale Map 76S.
