Contrary to Garmin's Help Desk, this unit does not work
well when used with Garmin's Spanner Program in conjunction
with DeLorme mapping programs. Signal acguisition is fast
but data streem lags behind when vehicle is moving causing
the GPS location on the maps to lag behind real-time
location. Garmin tech help has does not recognize the
problem and offers no solution.

Quick signal acquisition, very small, works well
where space is at a premium. Sensitive to
position & orientation. For a bit more money,
the GPS 18x USB is a more robust unit - thicker
cable, stronger case, magnetic base and water
resistant. I have a GPS 18x USB for the setup
that moves to different vehicles, the GPS 20x
stays permanently setup.
The 20x provides improved sensitivity over the
GPS 18 USB it replaces for laptop navigation in
a van and holds signals well in urban canyons.
However, my 2 year old GPSMap 60Cx still
outperforms this unit in urban canyons and heavy
rain/snow conditions.
