Great screen that is easy to read in sunlight. Has more
features than I will use. Drawback is that it has no USB
connection so that you can transfer tracks/waypoints into
the unit from other Garmin GPS (I have a handheld with
fishing locations I would like to transfer). Forums
indicate this can be done using SD slot, but as yet I
havent' confirmed this workd. The g2 vision chart although
a neat option is not worth the price, but fortunatley I got
most of the cost rebated. The built in maps is great
provides adequate detail for majority of needs. May change
my mind if the bathymetric feature provides good trolling
routes.
The install of the in-hull transducer is easy, just make
sure that when you mount the base unit it is facing the
correct location. You can get it level facing fore or aft,
but if it is 180 out then the transducer doesn't properly
lock in place as the tabs on the transducer are not
symetrical.
