I am somewhat dissapointed in the ruggedness of the Garmin
GPSMAP 60CSx. I Bought this unit brand new a few years back
because of its features and my previous good experience
using garmin products. The GPS worked flawlessly when it
was new, but one day, low and behold, it fell off my belt
clip and "lightly" dropped 30 inches down onto the kitchen
floor. After that, the GPS was un-useable, it would never
track properly. the map screen spins wildly unless I jog at
a rate of 5KM/hr. I never thought a slight domestic "bump"
would completly destroy an expensive, supposedly rugged GPS
that was intended for outdoor use! I took it back to GPS
city where I purchased it, they directed me to an online
repair facility, where I determined that it was not worth
the cost to have the unit repaired. I don't think I will be
buying another GPSMAP 60Csx any time soon.

I used a GPSMAP 60csx for six years at work. When I left
that job I ended up buying the new generation 62sc for my
personal use. Some of the functionality of the 62sc was
different from what I was used to with the 60csx and I also
didn't like the fact that I had to upload/download my data
with BaseMap, instead of my preferred Minnesota DNR Garmin.
I sent the 62sc back and bought a new 60csx. I'm happy as a
clam with my old standby.
gpscity also gets five stars for their great prices and
great service..

I'm a heavy GPS user and I'm left shaking my head in
disgust at the way Garmin has evolved. I've tested all the
new series (oregon, dakota, montana, and the 62CSx) and was
bitterly dissapointed at the way they've dummied down the
interface. These units are practically useless for field
work. Thats why I just purchased 10 new 60CSx (yes, the old
version) - i wanted to stockpile as I won't be able to buy
the old version for long and the new garmin units are
terrible!!! Garmin-what were you thinking?!?!???

I loaded this baby with all my province toponav cards and it
works great. I use it on an atv with a ram mount I got with
it and its fast and accurate. Only problem I have is when I
ordered I was not refered to the canadian store I didnt know
existed. Which ended in paying about 70$ more for my order
since I had to pay for customs. The same order in canada
would have cost about 70$ less. But im so happy with the gps
that I dont mind that to much.
If you are to use with an ATV or moto cycle or even your
bike, then you need the ram mount that has a u bolt.

This mount is very easy to setup and hold the gps in place
with no worries.
