I did some online price comparisons of this to a preloaded handheld unit in Ireland and
found that the map data is far cheaper than buying another handheld... ymmv.

I can't understand why someone would by a software at that price to put in a old GPS when you could simply buy a new GPS all included in Europe for almost the same price.

I am very dissatisfied with the low resolution of the map drawing in this program for the price charged. I was going to use my Quad-band AT&T 8525 Windows Mobile phone with my Garmin Mobile 10 bluetooth GPS for my next European trip, but the maps are so expensive for the resolution they provide that I have decided to use my iPhone with its superior Google maps instead and just forgo GPS for this trip. That will cost only the $25/month overseas data plan to download up-to-date maps and POI searchable data. If iPhone ever goes GPS, maybe the competition will make the price of this DVD become affordable.
