While contemplating manually entering several hundred waypoints extracted from a .gpx file for my upcoming summer mountain bike tour into my eTrex Vista, I decided to do my annual search of Garmin for any signs of life regarding software for Mac. I downloaded Bobcat Beta and in a few minutes I had the .gpx files for my mountain bike tour on a basemap. That was all it took. I now have another eTrex - Vista HCx and the route was loaded into it with ease using Bobcat. Now the question is whether to use MapSource City Navigator North America NT Mac or Topo US 2008 Mac?

Works extremely well It's great to finally have some Garmin Mac software!! Yes, there is room for growth and improvement but hey, us Mac users are finally in the Garmin loop! Can't believe buddy rates it one star. Last year at this time there was NOTHING for the Mac.

Your quote above is incorrect.
"You can create waypoints, routes and tracks on the Mac with the Garmin City Navigator but you will require the Garmin Bobcat program to transfer them to or from your Garmin GPS."
City Navigator is only the Map Data. You must use Bobcat to create Routes, waypoints and tracks on the computer. Bobcat is early beta and it's functions are limited.
