my 1.5 years of geocahing, very simple 1 handed
operation.
Easy interface with your computer, and very
accurate. The screen is a bit dark, but you can
turn up the brightness, battery life is great,even
with the back light on all the time.
So far the only downside to this unit is that it
does not have an internal charging system, the
power cables ,either AC or DC will only power the
unit to save your batteries, it will not charge
the batteries n the unit.
I'm running the Energizer 2450 mAh rechargables
and get a full day out of them 12-14 hours martlaco, April 27, 2009 This product is relatively simple and easy to
use. It has everything you need and none of what
you don't. Great size. Great price and the extra
memory card is a definite plus. I suggest
rechargeable batteries. If your an outdoor
enthusiast, you'll also want to preserve the

comparer à d'autres modèles.
Je l'utilise depuis 1 mois pour faire du
géocaching et je suis très satisfait. La
précision, 7 à 8 mètres en général, permet de
trouver facilement les caches. Le GPS se tient
très bien dans la main et permet d’avoir accès à
une multitude de fonctions et de profils qui
répondent à plusieurs types d’utilisateurs. En ce
sens, le GPS est très polyvalent. Entre autres,
la fonction « Where I Go » intégrée est un aspect
intéressant pour cette activité qui prendra
sûrement de l’ampleur dans le futur. Que ce soit
pour le géocaching ou pour les randonnées en
forêt, le Colorado 300 répond amplement à mes
attentes. Pour une meilleure précision, des
cartes topographiques doivent bien sûre être
ajoutées.
Un des aspects à améliorer est l’autonomie. Avec
des piles ordinaires, le GPS n’est fonctionnel
qu’au plus 7 à 8 heures. Avec des piles NiMH, la
durée est au moins doublée. Sans rétro-éclairage,
la visibilité de l’écran n’est bonne qu’avec un
angle très restreint de la lumière ambiante, mais
on s’y habitue rapidement. Enfin, le guide de
l’utilisateur de Garmin n’est pas très complet
il ne fait qu’une vue d'ensemble des différentes
