I would like to say that I am very impressed from this
device. It should have a 5 star rating. One of the best
features of the dakota is the ability to addd maps. I would
capitalize on this feature when you purchase the device. A
standard base map is not the best for outdoor navigation
but you can chose from many free garmin topo maps that can
be very helpful to your dakota.

I have just purchased the dakota 10 and I am very impressed
by the touch screen. I also found it very nice to be able
to see sun and moon information and hunt and fish details.
This is truly a geat outdoor GPS. I would highly recommend
this over buying the oregon. It is smaller and fits better
in your hand and has some of the same capabilities that the
oregon has. Overall 5 stars.

I like this little unit. easy to read outside, touchscreen
works great, the included maps arent fantastic for the area i
live, i like the tracking and point capture functions. I have
imported them into my GIS software flawlessly.

Great unit... if you only need it for a few weeks. I
bought my Dakota 10 from Costco mid April. It's dead
already (less than 4 weeks). Would not start yesterday no
matter what I did, even followed the recovery procedures on
the wiki website. Prior to that it would crash when trying
to save the current track log. Took it back to Costco and
ordered the Oregon 200. Hopefully that lasts a bit
longer :-(
