It's nice but really, do you need a $500.00 unit when a
Edge 500 will do the trick. Found that the battery will not
last 15 hours as said. I did a 48 mile ride within 3 hours
and my battery went down 52%. Glad I was not doing a
Century ride. Not dependable for a long ride. Had to turn
off off the tones. It drove me nuts beeping about every 20
seconds. I was on a long winding road and the darn thing
kept beeping and telling me I was going North, then
Northwest, then South. and etc. I was on the same road. Who
cares. If I am on a long road I don't need to know, there's
no option to turn. Paying alot just for a touch screen.
Well be sending it back, mainly due to the battery life.

As other reviewers have stated and numerous blogs online,
this unit is full of bugs. Issues of unit freezing up, GPS
accuracy stating 3m but over 12m off the road on the map,
unit crashing etc. Granted these are not too frequent, but
at this price they shouldn't happen nearly as often as they
do. Perhaps the most frustrating is the barometric meter it
is usually 10-30m off when comparing identical rides, but
today it was over 100m off. Identical ride start that should
be at 56m was -48m today. Throw in the lack of even remotely
comprehensive manual (online or print) among some interface
issues and it is a disappointment. Lots of potential but too
many issues. Go with a good cycling computer and save a lot
of money and frustration, or hopefully Garmin will sort out
the bugs. On a side note, GPS City has been excellent to
deal with - nothing but good things to say about them and
would highly recommend them as a retailer.

I would hold off on buying this GPS. For a very pricey item
it has a lot of bugs. The ones most obvious are
-suddenly stopping tracking resulting in a straight line and
now useless ride stats
- suddenly shutting down, even with Auto Shutoff disabled. If
you do not notice, ride stats are once again useless.
Have contacted Garmin that suggested a hard reset and
reinstalling the updated firmware. Did not help resovle the
problem
If this does not bother you I can sell you mine really cheap.

what a great device. Documentation is skinny though. took a
bit to figure out how to display cadence HR and speed on
same display. Could be operator error but, perhaps they
should assume you are a Luddite.That is why a 4 vs a 5. Love
the micro sim slot for maps. I can use this for travelling
and put it on a rental bike. extra bike mount is a bonus.
touch screen is great.ability to customize how many items on
the screen is great
