I must congratulate Garmin for this little gem. It is packed
with many features and is very customizable. This is now my
main navigation device with a Dakota 20 as a backup. I
routinely exchange data between them wirelessly without a
glitch and the exchange of information between then and
between the units and Garmin's free Base Camp is flawless. I
have also added a supplementary map into the fenix that
takes over at sub-5 mile zoom values this makes the world
of difference in navigation. Highly recommended

This is my second review of this watch. After having it for
4 months now I just could not believe how great it works.
I could not believe that this watch only comes with a
basemap that shows very little. I easily put on GARMIN
TOPO maps onto this watch and renamed it as the basemap. I
have now got the best hiking/geocaching GPS unit ever! It
is very accurate and easy to read the map. I have posted a
picture on Twitter just look for the hashtag #fenix. This
4 Star GPS unit is now a 5 Star !!!

First of all great watch with lots of features. Which is one
of it's problems all the features with very little to no
documentation for many of them. Trying to figure out how to
change profiles, what that change does, and then to schedule
an indoor workout, and making sure the data is saved as FIT
and GPX or at least FIT format can be a work of trial and
error. Also the watch itself feels a bit "cheap" and the
screen resolution is nothing great. Not as nicely built or
simple as the Suunto Ambit, but the Ambit is missing many of
the options the Garmin has (like sun/moon, countdown timer,
workable zoom options on the map screen, etc.). Certainly
would recommend, but with a bit of work Garmin could make it
so much better.

Bought the watch a few weeks ago. Really love it - this is
the greatest tech toy and serious outdoor navigator in one
device. Love to play with all the provided data fields
during hikes or everyday activities e.g. like driving to the
mall or back home. On the other side already deployed the
track back feature in severe situation - once we were
surprised by an upcoming snow storm (October!) during a
photo shoot in the Austrian alps. It saved the hole crew
from wandering around during really bad weather in dangerous
environment. What I love most is the comprehensive feature
set man that's the Swiss army knife for all outdoors man -
you have full navigation features including a great track
navigation, great variety of all kind of data fields to give
you for each thinkable situation the right data you need, a
flashlight (man the backlight is bright) and a cool looking
classic outdoor watch on top. R-E-S-P-E-C-T
