This is my second review, after the firmware update. In my previous review, I have complained that the watch doesn't recognise slower turns. That is entirely fixed in the new firmware (beginning of 2013) and even the lightest tap on the wall will be recognised as a turn. Consequently every contact with anything else (the rope for example) during the swimming will be recognised as a turn. Problem with recognition of butterfly (half the time recognised as freestyle) and breast stroke (often recognised as backstroke) persists.

The item recognizes front crawl (freestyle) without a
mistake. Not even one. However breast stroke is often
recognized as backstroke and/or the length is not
recognized at all. Butterfly stroke is sometimes recognized
correctly but often is recognized as front crawl. I am
swimming front crawl style mostly, and I use the watch as a
counter, so it works all right. It seems that the watch
needs the turns to be done more aggressively than it is
done at breaststroke swimming. A new software version might
be better thou. The strap is somewhat short, and for me to
wear it comfortably it would need to be at least 10mm
longer. Circumference of my wrist is minimum 200mm.The
watch looks like standard watch which I like. It looks and
feels as good quality item. Its profile is low but I feel
some drag when swimming butterfly only (arm movement is the
fastest when swimming butterfly). I don't like that every
time you pause (to fix the swimming goggles for example) it
returns the counter to zero. Here, long end short press
could be introduced. Nevertheless, I am happy with the item
and feel that this is only the beginning for those
products. I see more of them coming in future.

I wish this watch could sense when I stop swimming so I would
not have to remember to stop and start it. I constantly
forget to do both and it effects the accuracy of the data.

Do what it says but sensible to stroke type. Do not stop in
the middle of a length, it will record two lengths. Minimum
pool is 20 meters.
