Excellent basic case for general use. Not padded for extra
protection. Extra room inside for a spare set of batteries.
Wish it had a belt clip that snapped open, instead of having
to thread a belt or strap through the belt loop.

I bought this case for an Garmin Oregon 450. The case is
actually larger than the Oregon so it is a loose fit. The
top has about an extra inch of space and over a half inch
on the side (left/right). There is over a quarter of an
indch space front/back.
The extra space allows me to carry extra batteries that I
have in a AA two battery plastic case from Thomas
Distributing.
There is a belt loop on the back of the case and a zipper
closure going around the top part of the case. It will
work for hiking but I think the case is more suited for
storing in the car or elswhere. A better hiking option is
the case DeLorme sells for the PN-40. The Oregon fits
perectly in that case. The top has a velcro top and flips
right open. There are also elastic pockets that are a
perfect fit for the plasic battery cases. It has a plastic
belt loop which makes it more bulky than this Garmin case.
Bottom line .... I use the Garmin case for auto and
storage, but use the Delorme case for hiking.
