The mapping is very good from what I can see. The proof
will be on my next Europe visit in February 2011. The
installation process can be tricky depending on the memory
capacity of your model GPS. The best solution is to
download the whole set of map data to your PC and then
download whatever areas you need to your GPS unit. My
Street Pilot C530 has a limited internal memory. It does
take SD cards but according to the Garmin Tech support
people I've spoken with on the phone, my unit can handle
almost all 2 GB cards. They have seen problems with using
some 4 GB cards. My 2GB card works fine. The only problem
is that the Europe map requires over 2GB to store all of the
areas of Europe. A bit of a pain but not a major issue.
Notwithstanding other comments, maps DO CHANGE! New
roadwork is going on all the time. Only regular updates
will keep you "on track" and these lifetime updates are the
only way to go!

Updated from the 2008 maps that came installed on my Nuvi
770. A much better deal than buying individual updates.
Install time a bit long but what's the hurry? Looking
forward to using these maps on vacation this fall.

I was new to the GPS game and believed that I was buying
the Europe Map and a Lifetime of updates - wrong - this is
only updates and the maps have to be purchased separately
and the updates can only be used with one GPS device (i.e.
not transferable). So realistically you may have your GPS
device for up to 10yrs - well maps are not going to change
much in 10yrs - so I see this as a complete waste of money!

Great value compared to buying yearly updates.
Garmin has slow downloads (2 hours using cable modem) and
1.5 hr install time to nuvi. But this is minor compared to having
your nuvi updated 4 times a year.
