Recent reviews for this item: KARMA IV, September 19, 2012 This drive unit is actually made in Denmark by JEFA and by
all reviews it looks like one of the top quality performers
available. I think Garmin was smart adding their name over
top this brawny drive, its very well built and smooth.
Installing the drive is not difficult but do not anchor this
drive to anything that is not solid structure i.e.: hull. I
had to glass in a solid base to the hull of the boat to
ensure a solid footing for the robust capability of the
drive. Wooden bulkheads or inner liners would not provide the
structural strength over the life of this unit.
