Well it held onto my snowmobile hood at 90mph across a
bumpy lake, I would say its a trustworthy mount.

I'm looking at my GoPro Suction Mount trying to understand
what Bob means by "extremely plastic looking". If this is to
imply that that it is somehow fragile or easily damaged, I
couldn't disagree more. The fact is, this mount is very
durable and solid, and it does an excellent job of locking
the camera in place and minimizing vibration. You would
have to be really careless, and abuse this mount far beyond
the wear and tear it would be subject to under ordinary use
to break it.
The suction cup is very strong, and it held on to the door
of my car at 80MPH on a bumpy highway. It was admittedly
somewhat nerve racking knowing my $300 camera was being held
in place by nothing but a suction cup. But I'd have those
reservations with any kind of suction cup mount. You just
have to ensure that the mounting surface is clean, smooth
and relatively flat, and that there is no oil or grease on
the suction cup. The GoPro mount worked well enough that
I'm willing to try it out on a racetrack this summer at much
higher speeds. But, as I would with any suction mount, I'll
probably attach a lanyard just in case.
The one complaint I do have about this mount is that it can
be time consuming articulating it so that the camera is
pointing where you want it. You can end up fiddling with 5
different knobs to get the camera pointing in the right
direction. Something with a ball head would really shorten
the setup time, and this is why I've only given it a rating
of 3.

The item seems to work as described, however I was a little
dissapointed in the quality if the unit itself. From the
description on the GoPro website, I expected it to be well
constructed and engineered, it is that however it is
extremely plastic looking. The website claims you can hang
this on the side of an air craft, I have issues about it
sticking to the side of my motorbike's gas tank ... I would
never trust it! I would save your money and invest in more
of the traditional mounts. I guess I should have expected
this when the item came in a plastic bag, the savings on
packing was definately not put into the product.
