The antenna put all of the strength bars at the top on my
76CSx. I mounted the receiver on the top of my pack and get
a lot better reception in heavy bush in Northern Ontario.

Put my Garmin in my motorcycle saddlebags & ran the antenna
to the top of my gas tank. Worked great in all kinds of
weather for my 6000 K trip up the US eastern seaboard.

Very happy with this product, acquisition time is
about half and I'm almost always sitting with a 3
meter accuracy on my Garmin 680. Also this was
the best price I was able to find after some
serious looking around online, and I had it in 3
days. First time buyer, will be back here next
time I'm in need. :)

So I bought the Hercules and the Garmin ditty bag from GPS City. Im happy with the quicker acquisition of sattelites when the Herc is plugged in. In good condx the S-meter comes right on instead of taking up to a minute for solid acquisition. Indoors I put the Herc connected to the C340 near a window and instead of iffy acquisition, it comes up like it does w/o an external antenna outdoors. The specs. on all the external antennae is 28db gain. Not everyone understands what this means. I do. The Herc workx and at $14.95 its a no brainer. I bought the rig because Im taking a road trip in Sept.'07 and learned that Garmin units costing over $500 just a year ago were selling for about half. That's what I call "the sweet spot" when price falls and the unit is still supported by the mfg. who happens to have a 'presence' and reputation for good service. Ive contacted Garmin to register and found it quick and easy to climb the learning curve. GPS City made me happy by being an internet outlet that does what it says delivering products quickly at value. Ill be shopping at GPSCity again.
