I've compared the iWAY500C, Magellan Roadmate 700 and the Garmin 2620. The Lowrance iWAY500C was by far the most rugged unit. The fit and finish, quality of construction is commercial / industrial; a bit hefty, but definitely not a toy like some others. The screen is large and bright. I liked the Magellan software a bit better (tone prompt at turn) but the Navteq databases were identical on noth units. I returned the Garmin as it was DOA. As it turned out, I had to send the iWAY500C back for service after two weeks. The touch screen went bezerk. The Magellan found satelites quicker than the iWAY but once locked in, both update quickly.

Pro:
Purchased this unit few week ago, Love it.
-Lock signal < 1 min with internal antenna, and navigation is accurate.
-Excellent acessories package, free updated POI database from Lowrance Web sites.
- 10G MP3 storage space, and MP3 software with built in AMP, Equallizer, shuffle, auto-build playlist with windows folder structure. It works great connecting to car stereo system via my sony cassette adapter.
- Screen visibilty is excellent under any weather condition - without glare (not like other GPS).
Con: paid $100 more few week ago from another online reseller.
