Great little lanyard, I regret not ordering one for my cell
phone too!

I originally used the carabina supplied with my Oregon 450,
but no matter where I attached it to my pack, it kept trying
to knock me out.
I bought the Garmin Retractable Lanyard to solve the problem
and carried it on the 24hr Eco-Endurance Challenge. We
ran/hiked 64km through the worst dead-fall and close country
but the retractable lanyard kept everything nice and close
so I didn't get snagged up on anything.
We were on the move for most of it so I treated it pretty
rough, (including an impromptu dunk in the river), but after
two months of abuse, it is still as tight and smooth as the
day I bought it.
Supports the full weight of the GPS unit and doesn't mind a
bit of wear and tear.

I purchased this retractable lanyard for my garmin gps while
out geocaching. I use it with the G5 belt clip. It great and
strong. I have dropped my gps a few times out of my pocket
or not clipped the carabener clip properly because my shirt
was in the way. Nothing worse than walking almost a
kilometer away before realizing that your gps is missing!
Well not anymore with this bad boy! Strong enough that if
you drop your gps it does not even hit the ground, then it
slowly retracts back up to your belt. Amazing.
