Unit works just fine, no real issues Navionics gold charts are very nice. Hey, "one more cast Bill", the fishfinder is supposed to be you. :) Electronics should not be relied upon to find fish, LOL. Unless of course you're on the "Plenty of Fish" website!!!

When I purchased this unit for my new boat I was led to believe it was a combination GPS/Fishfinder.
Had I been told it was a GPS/Sonar Unit I would have looked at a different model.
As a GPS/SONOR unit it is a 9 but as a Fishfinder it is a 1!
I use it mainly on Georgian Bay off Lake Huron and love it for navigation and bottom stucture but will have to buy a Fish finder to go along side of it now.

Just about what I expected. The display is easy to read in
the sun. I had no problems with the installation. I am
having no problems learning to "navigate" thru the on-
screen menues. This is my first GPS Chartplotter and I am
enjoying it. The Navonics map that comes with the unit is
better than the base map that comes with the standard unit.
Of course, I still wish it had more detail on the Navonics
map. The Sonar function is not real good when running on
plane but I mounted the transducer inside the boat so it
picks up some air inteference from under the boat. I boat
in very shallow water so I depend on the sonar to tell when
the water is getting too shallow to run the boat. I may
order an extra transducer to mount outside the boat.
Oh yes, I don't need to select the Navonics map each time I
turn the unit on. Maybe Lowrance has solved this problem.

Very bright screen, even in the sun. Good looking.Map fine,
but you have to select it each time you open the gps,
anoying. GPScity unable to provide connector to interface it
with vhf, and calls to lowrance useless.I hope I won't have
to need service someday...Finally got one 40$ thru a trader,
but no info abouts wire colours.... Booklet now ok. Easy to
take off.
