Although I haven't yet had the opportunity to use this
system on any extended trips, I have tested many aspects of
it and find that it has flexibility and operates very well.
The Mobile PC system software looks much like that of the
Garmin Nuvi and although the maps in "City Navigator North
America NT 2011 still does not have all the detail of others
and still has a lot of older data for Canada, for the most
part it is very good. The interface is easy to work with,
as anyone who owns a nuvi will attest to and you can easily
add your own "Custom POI's and contacts etc.
The spoken instructions will provide you with directions
without distraction on your journey. I would wholeheartedly
recommend this product.

This unit is mounted in a special response emergency
vehicle and works well. The screen is uncluttered and
intuitive. The gps unit should have a mounting system with
it for ease of installation. The software continually
tries to connect with Microsoft Outlook with is annoying.

Hi. This product is the third I buy from Garmin to fit on
Laptops. I prefer laptop GPS as it is a much bigger
screen. It works well. BUT, if you already own a GPS
antenna from Garmin (or others but I didn't test) then you
don't need this package as Garmin played dumb and locked
the previous antennas when you buy the Mobile PC with
GPS20x from working. Just buy mobile PC and pay less for
the same functionality.

We went on a 9000 km trip across the western states this
summer. I've never used a GPS system before and I had no
trouble navigating through both rural and urban routes.
Excellent value.
