This package has it all for an easy installation. Personally I chose the Montana 650 because of it's dual internal battery sources. I didn't want to have to hook it up to my KLR's battery. I was able to disconnect the wiring from the rugged mount, complete the installation in under 10-minutes and was on my way. The vibrations of the bike did seem to cause the unit to power off but the install of an ear plug in the battery case seems to have corrected the issue. Not ideal for a unit of this price.... Operation of the unit is a simple or complex as you want to make it - if you're into electronics then this unit has alot of features to play with. Map transfers is a breeze with Garmin's free software. Purchase through gpscity.ca was excellent queries were answered same business day and unit was shipped and received on time and in perfect condition.

... just add the 24K topo of your part of the states [and others as you begin to wander] and you have got everything covered for motorcycle adventure. I have used this hiking and on the street and will be on the trails as soon as this global warming thing gets it above freezing in March. The display is awesome even in bright sunlight. I don't understand the power cable. There are two wires for 12vdc, there are 3 more wires for "serial data" ... to what? for what? and then there is a audio cable. I just want to power this up. I have too much cable to use on a simple motorcycle.

Awesome product, I highly recommend to anyone who wants it
all in an outdoor GPS. I use it presently on my snowmobile
but will be using with motorcycle come summer. The battery
lasts all day in the cold, and having the feature of being
able to use AA bateries is great. Touch screen works very
well, and very simple GPS to use. I also recommend the RAM
Mount system as it is flawless.
