On a trip that took me through several countries in southeast
Asia my Garmin GPS worked well. But in China I found that
using this map product, my GPS portrayed me to be about 0.6 km
west of my actual position. The dealer thought perhaps the
problem could be cleared with a ROM patch to my GPS. I
installed their patch but it made no difference. I suspect
Chinese government may fritz things at times in some way.

Not great about picking best route for driving but ok.
Interection detail not always good either. Can be frustrating
in terms of it recognizing destination names i.e. it may
require you type a road name as two words instead of one word
as most local maps show. But seems current and very very
useful for foreigner trying to navigate in China. I have had
none of the syncing / offset issues mentioned in other
reviews so it appears that this issue has been completely
fixed by Garrmin. I would rate a buy for navigating China --
- it has made my life a lot easier.

Contacted tech support half a dozen times. They don't know
how to fix. Said .bin file should work but it doesn't.
Don't waste your money. Just buy GPS in China.

I bought this after calling Garmin and GPScity who both
assured me it would work. I had my doubts but still bought
it figuring it would be somewhat useful in China. It is
useful as a map and showing the general direction of where
to go, but it is not useful for driving.
The funny thing is that my iPhone has the same offset, but
my Nokia phone does not have an offset. Maybe it has to do
with the map technology.
I have used this with a C530 bought in Canada. I suspect
it works fine with a unit bought in China.
