Read the fine print ! Purchased three of these for the family
and my very first map update (less than a year after purchase)
advises that there is not enough room on my disc/device for
full download and I can either limit the map options or
"purchase" a card !! Really ???? One update and already no
more disc space ?? Second time this has happened to me with a
Garmen product

Purchased as a gift. The family used it for their vacation,
and loved it, even at points for avoiding bad
traffic/accident situations. They also liked the quick
learning curve.

Generally satisfied with this purchase. Was using an old i5
so quite an upgrade for me.
Initially I was very happy with the purchase but then we
went on a 6000 km. motorcycle trip. I had major frustrations
trying to push the return button and it not working or using
the keyboard and having to type an "S" to get an "A". Used
the Internet to find out how to calibrate the screen and
finally after several attempts it seems to be working well.
My experience with the unit is similar to other comments.
Routing picks the fastest route not the scenic. I would have
to build my own routes with waypoints. This however was fine
because I found it worked very quickly. I'm still trying to
figure out the dragging on the touch screen. Many times it
seems to do what it wants not what I want. I too have used
paper maps to plot a route. I also do not like the voices on
this unit. The female voice is terrible.

I am a cab driver, when I leave the gps on and get to the
center of downtown in Winnipeg (portage&main) the gps starts
recalculating and recalculating and displays improper
information with regards to speed and location even when I'm
standing still. When on a trip, the gps will tell me to turn
on the wrong street eg. Turn right immediately turn left and
then it will start recalculating again
