This was my first gps so I have nothing else to compare it to.
It works very well, and is easy to understand. Only problem I
have with it is the Lifetime Maps will not update properly.

That my second Garmin. My first one was a 255W bought 2
year ago (good GPS). I give it to my son to travel at the
college 3 hours from my place. I bought the 2450LM for me
and I choose it for the large screen, free lifetime map
update, lane and junction assist, speed limit indicator. I
realy enjoy all that features.

This is my 3rd Garmin GPS and it is by far the best. Of
course the large screen is nice but it's the programming
that I like.
One of my other GPS systems is the Zumo550 for motorcycles
and I really fell in love with the ability to program your
own routes. I recently finished programing a 10 day car tour
through New England for my 2450. I'm using MapSource to do
the mapping and uploading it to the 2450. Works great.
I like the self design menu page for the 2450 as well. You
can put your favorite searches like gas stations or hotels
right on the main menu. Very handy.
The powered cradle like the Zumo models is brilliant, no
more wrestling with tiny power cables in the dark. The power
goes into the cradle and the nuvi 2450 just clics on and of
in milli seconds.
I purchased the 2450LM because I already had a lifetime
traffic power cable from an earlier model. You just plug in
the traffic power cable to the nuvi2450 cradle and after it
downloads some software, you now have free traffic as well.
The lane selector while on the freeway is a nice touch as
well, it shows you well in advance what lane you should be
in. Comes in handy when you et into heavy ruch hour traffic
and are trying to exit the freeway.
Overall I love this GPS.
